'Hello again!'

'For it is in passing that we achieve immortality, through this we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee.'

'Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask.'

'You know, I really will break his legs.'

'Jaune, everybody needs a little push from time to time. It doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. You made it to Beacon! That speaks volumes of what you're capable of!'

'Come on! I know you get frustrated, but you must keep trying.'

'Well, I believe the saying goes: "There's... plenty more fish in the sea."'

'You can't get it wrong if it's the truth.'

'I've been blessed with incredible talents and oppotunities. I'm constantly surrounded by love and praise, but when you're placed on a pedestal like that for so long, you become separated from the people who put you there in the first place. Everyone assumes I'm too good for them, that I'm simply on a level they can't attain. It has become impossible to form any sort of meaningful relationship with people. That's what I like about you. When we met, you didn't even know my name. You treated me like anyone else. And thanks to you, I've made friendships that will last a lifetime. I guess, you're the kind of guy I wish I was here with, someone who saw me for me.'

'I'm sorry!'

Words that Pyrrha had spoken to Jaune swirled round his head like a carousel. Her words: always so kind, protective... Always so sweet.
Why hadn't he seen it before? Pyrrha was more than a friend, much more. How could he have been so stupid? It was all there in plain view. He groaned as he dragged his hands down his face. Lying on his bed facing the ceiling, he sighed. 'I have to tell her.' He thought.

A voice intercepted his train of thoughts. "Jaune? Are you alright?"

Jaune sat up, he hadn't realised Pyrrha awake, sitting on her bed. "O-Oh, yeah." He lied, leaning forwards to sit up. "What makes you ask?"

Pyrrha smiled, "I just heard you groan is all."

"Oh... Well... Ah that's what I wanted to say." He perked up as a thought hit him. "Pyrrha, there's a carnival tonight down by the docks, do you want to go with me?"

"Sure. Will team RWBY be joining us or will it just be our team?" She asked.

He rubbed the back of his neck. "Actually, I was thinking, maybe, just you and I should go."

Pyrrha's heart thumped in her chest. "Okay." She breathed. "What time are we going?"

"6:00 p.m? It opens at that time." He replied.

She grinned. "6:00 p.m it is then!"

Jaune chuckled. "I can't believe we're discussing plans for this evening when it's only 4:30 a.m."

Pyrrha giggled a responce. "As good a time as any."

Late on a Winter's evening, Jaune and Pyrrha made their way out of the campus of Beacon Academy, then headed to the airships to take them down to the docks - it was fairly peaceful.

"So." Pyrrha broke the silence between them as they walked to the docks after experiencing an awkwardly silent journey on the airship. "What made you want to go to the fair with me and only me? You usual want to at least bring Nora and Ren along."

Jaune shrugged. "Well, I promised I'd give Nora and Ren some space tonight, something's happened with Nora, I dunno, but they need to sort it out together with no disruptions."

Pyrrha deflated. "Oh... Is that the only reason the two of us are out together?"

Realising what it had sounded like, Jaune backtracked. "Oh no! Like, we could have stayed back at Beacon and hung out with team RWBY. I guess, I wanted to go out with you."

She looked away and smiled. Nothing more was said until they reached the fair.

Bright lights beamed from the many attractions. Screams, laughter, joy and happiness rung around the colourful sight. The pair looked around. "What do you want to do then?" Pyrrha asked.

Jaune grasped her hand and pulled her in a direction. "We HAVE to go on the Walsers! It's like the only ride that doesn't make me sick! Weirdly..."

Pyrrha giggled as her and Jaune were seated in a big, spinning chair, they sat close together. Jaune couldn't think of any sound more beautiful than the sound of his partner's laugh - so lyrical as it chimed out.

The ride started to pick up speed, Jaune and Pyrrha were whipped around as the chair spun round in circles. Occasionally the pair would crash into each other; bumping hips and knocking knees.

After the Walsers, they went on a collection of other rides. Thankfully, Jaune wasn't sick. Next Jaune laced his right-hand with Pyrrha's left, entwining their fingers.

Said girl gasped and looked down at their interlocked hands.

"What is it Jaune?" She wondered as she gestured to their joined hands.

He made up an excuse. "It's quite crowded around here, I don't want us to get split up."

They walked over to the ferris wheel. Pyrrha's heart skipped a beat at this moment then continued to pound in her chest. They sat down, side by side, hand in hand. Once they were strapped in, the ride started and up they went. Taking in the night's fresh air, Pyrrha closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. "This has been a truly wonderful night Jaune, thank you. Nobody has ever done anything like this for me before."

Jaune smiled as Pyrrha's emerald green eyes shimmered in the moonlight. Her complexion was simply breathtaking. Once they had reached the top, the ride stopped. Looking down they notice the man operating the ride call the repair men. "Oh, seems we're gonna be stuck up here for a while." She furrowed her brow.

"Eh, it's not that bad." He played off.

Pyrrha turned round and gave him a questioning look. "It's not?"

He shook his head. "No. Look, we have a beautiful scenery, the air is pure and I'm sitting next to the most pre-" he cut himself short. "And I'm sitting next to my awesome partner." He looked at her warily.

She sighed. "It's alright Jaune. I'll pretend I never heard that for you." This wasn't the first time Jaune had gone to say something about Pyrrha but then stop himself and look at her wide-eyed after changing his dialog.

Now he felt awful. Pyrrha had looked so crushed when he stopped himself from saying what he was truly thinking.

No.
He will do this.
The reason for taking Pyrrha out was to do this.
He must do this!
It's his perfect moment!

"No, don't forget it Pyrrha. What I wanted to say was, we have a beautiful scenery, the air is pure and..." He took a deep breath, if this was to go horribly wrong, it was going to be an awkward time to pass until they could get down. "I'm sitting next to the most prettiest girl I have ever met." He blushed and looked at her sheepishly. "I-I'm sorry Pyrrha... You probably don't like having the biggest loser in the school crushing on you..."

Smiling, Pyrrha wrapped her arms around Jaune, he was taken aback by this. "Oh Jaune, you're so sweet. You're not the biggest loser in the school, don't you ever say that again. You're not a loser." She pulled away and looked into his eyes. "You're the hero."

He smiled down at her.

She reflected his smile. "You're right, we have a beautiful scenery, the air is pure and I'm sitting next to the cutest boy I have ever met."

Jaune stuttered. "W-W-What? P-Pyrrha?"

She rested her head on his shoulder. "Thank you for making my dream come true." She whispered.
