Punishments

2 WEEKS LATER.....

Jekyo got up and got dressed. She had to return to school whether she wanted to or not. As she got ready for school she stared at the huge stacks of missing work she hadn't completed. For once it didn't bother her like it usually would've before. She let her long dark hair down. Not bothering to put it up or style it. She didn't put on any make up to cover her noticeable eye bags. She grabbed her bag and walked out. Outside the driver was waiting for her.

She got in and headed to school. When she got there people stared at her as she walked through the halls. Then someone grabbed her arm.

" Jekyo... Come here." Yongguk said taking her away into an empty classroom. " Why are you here?" Yongguk asked.

Jekyo was in her own little world. So Yongguk asked her 2 more times and still she didn't seem to respond. He shook his hand in her face to get her attention.

" Hm?" Jekyo said.

" Why are you here?" Yongguk asked worried.

" I had to. I'm fine don't worry about it." She said faking a smile.

Yongguk knew she wasn't,but he didn't want to push it. " Let's go to class then." Yongguk said grabbing her arm and leading her to class.

Through out the whole day Jekyo was quiet and in her own world. Her notebook and pencil were on the desk untouched. Yongguk was shocked when he looked up and saw the empty page for once she hadn't filled a page up.

Soon the bell for lunch rang. Jekyo stayed seated.

" Come Jekyo lets go get you something to eat?" Yongguk said.

" I'm not hungry. You can go eat if you want." Jekyo said.

As Yongguk was going to say something 2 girls walked in.

" what a turn of events don't you think?" One of the girls said.

Jekyo turned and looked at her.

" You know that saying that goes slow and steady wins the race? Well that was true with us two. You ran so fast leaving me in the dust. I slowly studied and got my grades up and patiently waited for your slip up so I could take my rightful place. Too bad you lost your friend bu-" she couldn't even finish before Jekyo jumped on her.

Jekyo smacked and pulled at her hair. Yongguk quickly got up and pulled Jekyo away.

The girl stood straight and walked closer to Jekyo.

" you're brave to show up to school like this. You're a mess. Your grades, your appearance and your life all one big mess. That's why I'm in 1st place now. At least you have Yongguk but it cost you Eunkyungs life-"

Jekyo pushed Yongguk away from her. She grabbed the girl by the hair and slammed her face on the desk. The girl fell on the floor.

" bitch I think you broke my nose!!!" The girl yelled in tears.

The other girl ran to get the nurse. Soon the nurse and teacher ran in.

" Who did this?" The teacher asked.

" Jekyo!" The girls yelled quickly.

" Are you sure?" The teacher asked surprised.

" Of course!"

" come we'll call your parents." The teacher said taking Jekyo.

Mrs. Park arrived at the school at the same time the other girls mother arrived. They walked up and saw their daughters in a room together. Mrs. Lee ran to her daughter.

" How can I send my daughter to a school where she gets hurt! Why kind of school is this?! I want her out! I will not settle for reasoning!!" Mrs.Lee yelled.

" Even if your daughter brought up my dead best friend? You don't any idea how it's like coming to school and everyone looks at me differently thinking i was the one that killed her when it was a drunk driver? Hmm even then you wouldn't reason. If not I don't have a reason to be here." Jekyo said getting up.

" Jekyo sit down." Her mother said soft but firm.

Jekyo looked at her and sat down.

" What is her punishment?" Mrs.park asked calmly. 

"  3 day suspension and 15 hours of school service." The teacher said.

" How about we do 10 hours instead and no suspension. My daughter is transferring to an American school in a week and I don't want something like this to effect her entrance." Mrs.park said. " Plus this is the first time she's acted like this I can assure you she won't do it again." Mrs.park said politely.

" but she broke my daughters nose!" Mrs.lee protested.

" Well your daughter brought up her friend who passed away 2 weeks ago. I won't make my daughter apologize, but I do think she should be punished for acting up. " Mrs.park said.

"well the teachers and I will discuss it more and we'll call or send a note home about the matter." The teacher said going up.

When everyone left Jekyo turned to her mom. " why didn't you tell me about going to an American school?"

" I was going to tell you soon. This is a great international school. There's a lot of good performing arts classes. You must take government and economics and business. Other than that the other 5 classes you may choose what to do. I still except you to be on top of your grades." Mrs. Park said.

"'seriously?" Jekyo said surprised. " when am I leaving?" Jekyo asked.

" This Friday... What are you going to do about Yongguk?" Her mom asked.

" I think .... I'm going to have to break with him ..." Jekyo said as tears threatened to fall.

"Awe it'll be okay." Mrs.park said giving her a hug." Come on let's go." She said walking out with her daughter.

Yongguk was by the door. " How did it go?" Yongguk asked worried.

" The teachers are going to discuss my punishment." Jekyo said. She felt guilty looking at him.

He gave her a hug and kissed her forehead and she almost cried. She stilled liked him everything about him was great which made it harder to break up with him.

" I'm so tired! Let's skip today." Yongguk whispered in her ear.

Jekyo nodded.
