Rosaline was a child of beauty,

Rosaline was a child that was loved.

Rosaline's laughter was infectious,

It made people feel like they were drugged.

Sarafine was a child of silence,

Sarafine was a child so unloved.

Sarafine was the family's secret,

To keep her quiet, they just kept her drugged.

Rosaline was a child of kindness,

Rosaline was a child of the light.

As she and Sarafine continued growing,

Sarafine began plotting in the night.

Sarafine was a child full of anger,

She plotted vengeance in the dark dead of night.

In her sister's blood she put a poison,

Rosaline's chance of survival only slight.

Sarafince slipped quickly out the window,

As Rosaline let out her final scream.

A late night assassin full of loathing,

This was the work of Sarafine.

The funeral was a very big one,

The entire town gathered there to cry.

And back in the depth of the shadows,

Her killer had a tear in her eye.

"I never wanted it to end like this,

My jealousy had just made me blind."

She lay there crying and weeping,

She thought her only way out was suicide.

So Sarafine grabbed a vial,

Filled with the poison she had saved.

She thrust the needle into her body,

Then ran and jumped into her sister's grave.

As you can see, there's no winner in this story,

A murderer driven by her hate.

Who then realized the weight of her deed,

And whose sorrow led her to her fate.
