The Ghost Of You

One early morning, I woke up and realised
That you're gone. You've left me behind.
Without a shadow, without a trace,
Gone with the wind. I can't feel your face.

You left me standing alone in the pouring rain.
I cried out to you in vain.
Alone under this tree I waited for you to turn around,
But you left me crying dry tears, sobbing without a sound.

In my heart, a great void materialised.
My pain you never felt. My feelings you never realised.
A darkness gripped my soul.
My heart turned to black coal.

But now you're gone, leaving the ghost of you
To haunt the empty chambers of my soul, painted with a grey hue.
The dawn has broken into another day with your absence.
But life must go on. You're now a shadow of existence.
