Its been a year since I've painted my hair bright pink. Might I add, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Sure, people looked at me differently, but I was okay with it.
Today was the first day of sophomore year. New teachers, and new students.
I'm always by Gwen's side when the new year starts. Just until people get used to seeing me.
Ever since Gwen gave me my eye-bow I've been getting more invested into portraying a pastel goth. I don't know why, but theres something about them that makes me want to become one more and more.
And when I dyed my hair pink, Gwen was the most supportive.
I'm really lucky to have her. When I got to school, there was no one there. Usually its because I arrive really early.
When there's no one around, I just go to the big oak tree in the middle of the school. That's where I mostly go to think or just draw. But when I got there, there was someone else there.
It's a boy, and he's sleeping.I didn't want to seem rude and wake him up, so I just went to the other side of the tree. I haven't seen him around in school. Maybe he's new?
''Eh, hi there." I said, hoping to make a new friend.
He didn't answer.
Well, then It felt awkard. So I just sat there until more people started showing up.
Thankfully, soon I see Gwen.
"Reed!" She squealed. "How are you? How was your summer? Did you do anything new??"
"Okay okay Gwen nice to see you too. I'm okay, as usual." I smile, because honestly, I did feel okay. Just okay.
"Well that's an improvement! Better than eh!"
I'm honestly glad to have such a thoughtful friend as Gwen, but at the moment things aren't as sunshine and rainbows.
Dad left for the military this summer. I miss him so much but there's nothing I can do about it.
I didn't notice right away but the boy had left.
"Lets see how this year treats us." I say with a bit of worry.
"Lets see." Gwen repeats.
Soon after, the bell rung.
