A Lovely Night

Rain splash and thunder crash;
What a lovely night--
Lovely night indeed,
To be lying cozy,
Warm and safe.

The lighting flashes,
Trees, cars, homes-- the rain washes
But my bed is warm
And my blankets are tucked.

How unfortunate--
For the desolated.
Might we help them,
So we've been taught.

Ripple effect on the pavement,
Cool breeze in the air,
A lovely night
To let down my hair.

No cuddles,
But no worries.
What a lovely night,
To be starring at the sky.

The sky so dim,
The sky so dark.
No stars shine,
Lightning flashes like wine.

Thunder as though drums,
Slow and sincere hums.
What a lovely night,
A lovely night indeed.
