“MATTHEW!” yells our science teacher.
We look up startled.
“surely you have finished then since you are talking so much?” He asks raising one eyebrow at me.
“uh yes I have.” I lie swiftly
“Good. you wouldn’t mind telling me the answer to this formula then.” He turns around and scribbles a complicated formula on the board.
We’ve never learnt this he’s just trying to humiliate me.
I stare at it.
“Matthew do you want to come up and write the corresponding formula on the board for every one?”
I sit there silent
“no hmmmmm maybe the person you were taking to would like to help you.” He says looking at mikyla
The class laughs. They know we’ve never learnt this. That its Harvard universe type of science.
I was just about to apologise when mikyla gets out of her seat and walks up to the white board
“the white board marker?” she asks
Our science teacher smiles trying not to laugh as he hands her the marker.
Mikyla faces the board and starts writing.
The smile on the teachers face disappears and goes blank.
Mikyla steps away letting the class see what she’s written on the board.
“As you can see here.” Mikyla says pointing to the board.
“the corresponding formula. But I must say....” she says looking at the teacher. “I think you got the first one wrong.......sir. The ∑ shouldn’t be placed in the middle it should be at the start otherwise F wont equal .”
The class goes completely silent as our teacher turns around and checks his own formula.
After a minute he turns around his face has gone completely white.
“yes....you were right. Thank you mikyla you may return to your seat now.” He says
I watch as mikyla makes her way back to her seat, stopping at the girls desk that called her dumb, pulled her tongue out at her and said
“whose dumb now bitch?” then took her seat next to me.
