~Mikyla ~

I don’t know why I agreed to go to the formal with that strange kind boy. There was something I could see in him. Something strange. Somehow he reminds me of that boy those many years ago who saved my life and gave up his. I think I may be falling in love. Yet I will never be able to live a happy normal life with anyone no matter how strong my love is for them, as long as the immortal jewel glistens around my neck. It dams me both ways, protects me from the Demons that wish to take me back to for fill my punishment. Death. But it stops me from living my life to the full and being able to love. I will not give up. I will find a way. I will keep fighting.

Mikyla pov

I feel like I was feeling those many years ago. Standing in front of a mirror in the same beautiful dress. But this time it is different.

Tonight will be about love and having fun like a normal girl. Where last time it was a night full of raw emotions and death.

I clip in the last pin to hold my hair back and stare into the mirror.

“this may sound weird but you actually look Egyptian.”

Matthews words float in my mind. Repeating them self’s over and over again.

Ding dong

“Rachael!” I call out to the maid “Would you get the door please?”

“yes miss.” She calls from down stairs.

“uh hello im ah looking for mikyla.” I hear him ask

“yes she will be coming down in just a moment please come in.”

I hear the door shut.

I take a few deep breaths pick up the bottom of my dress and make my way out the door and slowly down the grand white steps.

As soon as I come into view I hear Matthew gasp.

“Hello sorry I took a while I was doing my hair.”

“your..stunning.” he whispers

“thank you if may say so do you.” I say motioning to his black tuxedo.

“you know I’ve never been to a formal before.” I say as we walk out the front door.

“neither have I.” He smiles opening the car door for me.

“is that the same necklace you were wearing earlier this week at school?” Matthew asks breaking the silence in the car.

“yes it is. It an old family airloom.”

“I got it when........MATTHEW LOOK OUT!” I scream as the dark figure runs out onto the road and stops right in the path of our car.

The tyres screech, our body’s thrust forward through the wind screen shattering it, scattering shards of broken glass , I give a deathing screech as glass pierces through my arm. I feel my body flying through mid air then I hear a deathing crack of a skull hitting the cold blood stained pavement.
