Kyo and I were left to ourselves the next morning. To be honest, I have no clue where Yuki went but I see this as a perfect time to mend things with Kyo! Seeing as it was about 8 a.m. this Sunday, I ran downstairs to make breakfast for Kyo and myself. It seemed that Yuki and Shigure had leftovers from yesterday based on the empty container that sat next to the sink.

I hope Yuki had enough, I'm sure Shigure left much earlier. In fact, I'm surprised that Yuki isn't still drowsily walking into walls here!

Kyo's footsteps could be heard pattering against the wooden floor entering the kitchen from his usual morning jog.

"Good morning Kyo!"

"Morning. Did that damn rat and Shigure leave yet?"

"Mhm! Seems so."

He nodded in response. I turned my head to the noise of water boiling. I quickly tried wiping sticky rice off my hands before tending to the pot.

"Do you- umm want help?"

"N-no it's fine I got it. You did my work yesterday and-"

He put his hand on my shoulder. I could feel a warm sensating creep up from my neck to my cheeks.

"Like I said yesterday, you don't have to do everything for us all the time."

"But I want to. You guys are so kind to me the least I can do is the housework."

"Tohru... You-" he stopped, "you're really something."

"Huh?"

"I'm helping you."

"If you insist."

He gives me a small, awkward smile.

We finish making the food and we sit down and eat.

"Thank you very much for helping me Kyo."

"Yeah, whatever."

Although he likes to act all stubborn and tough, I can tell that what I said meant more to him than he was letting on.

After we finished up eating or rather, I finished eating, he followed me into the kitchen knowing I would be doing the dishes next.

As I was scrubbing the container that was left out on the counter, a small spray of water hit the side of my face. At first, I thought it was accidental until I realized that Kyo was on drying duty. A small "pfft" left Kyo's mouth as he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the outcome of his antic. Lucky for me, the next thing to wash was a spoon. He hand wiped the container with a dry towel before setting it down to finish air-drying and I turned the water on full blast. The stream of water hit the spoon perfectly, spraying my favorite cat in the face. The look on his face was perfect as he realized what I did.

I started laughing like a madman, something that I don't recall doing in a long time. "Haha. Very funny," he stated which caused my laughter to turn into worry. Did I just make things worse? He wiped his chest with the towel at hand and I noticed a smile. In fact, a little fang was poking out.

"I'm sorry Kyo, you go ahead and change and I'll wash your shirt. I was going to do laundry next anyway."

"It's just some water. Though, if you were anyone else you'd be good as dead."

Anyone else?

He started to stammer even though I hadn't said anything. Must've been the look I was giving him. "I mean-- like it's fair because I did it first! Yeah!" This earned him a giggle.
