Leaves howled as the winter-like kissed wind blew carrying water particles. The soft swishing and swashing sounds of the saturated earth vibrated through the atmosphere, as Nagato proceeded to traipse with Megami on his back, shuddering.
From no consumption of food, his stomach growled. The young boy felt weak because of him carrying Megami for days. Instead of showing concern for his stomach he did for Megami, because ever since that day, she hadn't woke up. But her fever was lowering with time.
His body swayed and swayed until he finally collapsed in small puddle. Nagato's body shivered and he wanted to cry, but he picked himself up, just to fall again. 'I can't die. I can't let Megami die. I need to get up.'
Then the red haired boy felt the cold tongue of a stray puppy, who cried a little
"Thank you," Nagato told the puppy. Then he felt movement on his back. "Megami."
"N-Nagato-ni." She slowly got off his back and looked down at the creature, weakly smiling. "Thank you, I heard you crying little one." Megami said as she stroked the puppy's fur. "If it weren't for you I wouldn't of have known Nagato-nii needed help."
The dog yipped happily, wagging it's tail, cuddling to the pink haired girl.
"Um M-Megami." He tightly held his fist to his chest and bit his bottom lip. 'How am I going to tell her-'
"Nagato-nii, you don't have to worry. I already know, our parents have returned to the earth. Thank you for carrying me all the way." Megami searched her pockets and pulled out a bag. "We should take shelter in that cave."
Once they were protected from the rain by the cavern, Megami spread the contents of what was in her bag on the ground. They were seeds. "Ok, I have to try." Her hands slowly formed in the snake formation.
Nagato witnessed a sprout was growing out one of the seeds and continued to grow forming into the tree. The tree grew even more mature and begun to store glucose and that contained sugar was turned into oranges.
She quickly released her hands, panting with redder cheeks. "Nagato-nii and puppy go ahead and eat. I don't know how it will taste, but it's edible."
Nagato nodded, grabbing some oranges and peeled one. He passed the one he just released from it's skin to Megami. "Here. You should eat."
Megami took the fruit from him and placed it on the ground in front of the puppy. "There you go. I know you must be really hungry."
He happily barked and commenced to eat the citrus fruit.
Megami softly giggled watching the puppy. Standing up she walked over to where Nagato placed her bag. "One out of ten seeds grew, and the tree only produced ten oranges, my powers are really weak, because of nature." Opening her bag, she searched, 'is there any more seeds in here?' She sighed, seeing that there was none.
Once she turned around, she saw Nagato holding the peeled orange in front of her. "You should eat to get better." He murmured.
She took it then gave Nagato a piece, when the juice of the fruit touched her taste buds, she said, "this is extremely sour. I can't even produce good fruits. Nagato-nii, you don't have to be concern with my health. It isn't like last time. The earth is slowly restoring itself, but isn't completely healed."
"So that means there's a chance you may go into a coma again?!" He exclaimed.
"Don't worry. It's not like I am going to die." She stroked his soft red strands. "I will just be asleep for a while with a fever."
"Megami! I don't want to lose you too." He embraced his god-sister with tears streaming down his cheeks.
Megamihinsei returned his hug, "don't cry. Don't worry. I won't. I promise." Slowly her heavy eyelids met her cheeks and the sweet warm darkness captured her.
