Chapter 9

I watched out my window as the sunset went down. My eyes started to get kinda droopy. It was slightly raining which was making me more tired.

We've been driving for a while, we didn't take a plane cuz you never know what kind of crazy person who hates my family will be on that plane..

"How much longer?" I asked tiredly.

Ross looked in the rearview mirror at me, "Just a couple more hours, you should get some sleep." He said.

"What about you? Aren't you tired? We can stop at a hotel." I said.

He shook his head, "I'm fine, go to sleep."

I slightly nodded and looked down at my phone and seen Jonas had texted me.

"Hey Laurie!! How's the ride?"

I smiled and replied back.

"It's fine, but I'm pretty tired so I should probably rest."

I sent the text and looked back out of my window and seen it was now pouring.

My phone buzzed again, I looked down and read Jonas' text.

"Okay, night Laurie! See you soon."

I smiled and set my phone in my bag then leaned my head on my seat and closed my eyes.

I slowly started to drift off, but my eyes imminently opened again when I felt someone slam into our car.

I looked to my in back of us and seen our car had been rear ended by another car.

I turned my head to the right and seen another car heading towards us, my eyes widen and I quickly cover my head with my arms.

And just like that everything went black....

"Laura?! Laura!!" My eyes shot open when I felt someone shaking me and calling my name.

"Ross?" I said rubbing my head.

"Oh thank God!" He said hugging me. "I thought you were dead.." He breathed out.

He pulled away and I looked at his face and body, he had scrapes on his face and arms.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

He nodded, "Just got scraped up, and I got some glass in my arms but they weren't in there deep." I nodded.

I looked down at my body and seen scrapes on my arms too.

I felt my head and winced when I felt a big gash in my head.

"You got pretty banged up, you must have hit your head." He said examining my head.

"I'm okay," I said getting up, I looked at our car that was next to me and gasped.

"Yeah..the car flipped after the second car hit us." He said.

"Are the other people okay?" I asked worried.

"I don't know, I was too worried about you." He said scratching his neck.

I slightly smiled, but then frowned.

"Did you call 911?" I asked.

He nodded, "They took the others, someone is waiting in another ambulance over there," he said pointing towards the ambulance.

"I told them to wait cause I didn't know if you were okay." He said.

Ross walked over to the guy in the ambulance and told him we were fine.

Ross walked back over to me and sighed.

"My phone broke in the crash, and so did yours cuz I checked, so I guess we have to sleep in the woods for now..." He said.

My eyes widen, "Are you serious? Ross it's freezing out here! Why didn't you just ask the guy in the ambulance to help us?!" I yelled getting angry.

"Because your father told me not to take rides from anyone."

"Not even an ambulance?!"

He nodded then grabbed my hand and walked across the street into the woods.

We were in the middle of no where, no stores or anything.

We walked until we found a good place to rest for the night.

Ross reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket knife.

"Woah, you planning on killing me?" I joked.

He rolled his eyes then grabbed some sticks and put it in a pile, he took his pocket knife and flipped the lighter out, he flicked it on and started the fire.

I sat down in front of the fire and rubbed my arms to try and get warm.

Ross sat next to me and ran a hand through his hair.

"Well, this has been a crazy day." He said staring at the fire.

I nodded, "So, how are we suppose to get to California?" I asked.

"I guess we'll have to find a phone to call your dad and tell him to bring a car down to us." He said.

I nodded, "Okay, I guess I'm gonna go to sleep.." I said.

I go to lay down but Ross stops me, "Wait Laura, use my jacket as a pillow." He goes to take it off but I stop him.

"No, I'm fine! You'll freeze and get sick, keep it on." He nods.

He bites his lip, "Then uh, you can just lay your head on me...if you want!" He said, saying the last part fast.

I blush slightly, "Um..okay," I said quietly.

He lied down and folded his arms under his head.

I awkwardly lied my head on his stomach and curled my legs up to my chest so I could stay warm.

"Goodnight Laura." He said softly.

I slightly smiled, "Night."

Guys I am so insanely happy it's summer!! I get to update more and read more raura stories hehehe!!

I seriously hate it when none of the Fanfics in my library are updated...😢😂
