Chapter Seven

Ivory's POV

The strange man carried me as I laid limp in his arms, too exhausted to even hold up my head.  I was fading in and out of consciousness.  After hours of walking (which was probably only about 10 minutes in reality), the man tightened his grip on me.  In a gravelly and low voice he apologized. "This isn't going to feel the best, and I'm sorry.  I wish there was an easier way that would be fast."  My violet eyes opened to look at his face, but shut tight at the feeling of being squeezed in a tube.

After a few moments, I could hear his voice comforting me, telling me that it was over and we had stopped moving.  But I could still feel the nausea I felt as we were hurtling through space.  The man carried me farther, never once complaining about my weight (not that there was much to complain about).  Soon, a large castle with lit up windows loomed in the darkness ahead.  "That's where we are going.  That is Hogwarts."  I recognized the name as the school where Harry was, but I didn't mention it.  No one could know who I was.  The Dursley's would kill me.  I let myself sink into oblivion as we neared the gates.

When I awoke, I was being laid down on a cot in what appeared to be a hospital room.  Both sides of the long hall-like space were lined with cots.  The curtains were drawn around me and I was left with the strange man and a woman I didn't know.  "Where am I?" My voice was croaky as I wasn't allowed to speak at home.  The strange man looked to the woman.

"You, dear, are in the hospital wing at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  Do you know how you got here?"  Her voice was warm and inviting.

"He brought me here.  Oh no, Uncle Vernon will kill me when I go back.  I am not to leave the house. Ever." I broke out in tears at the thought of all he would do to me when I went back to Private Drive.

"No one is going to kill you," the man assured.  "However, I have a class that I need to get to, so I will come check up on you later.  Can you be good and listen to Madame Poppy for me?"  I nodded shyly as he walked out of the room.

"Who is he?" I asked her once he was out of earshot.  It had been plaguing me, as it seemed that Petunia knew him.

"His name is Severus Snape, and he is a teacher here at Hogwarts.  Something triggered, and he was sent to find out why there was still magical energy coming from the house at Number Four, Private Drive.  After Harry Potter was brought here, only muggles should have been left.  So the real question is who are you?"
