I was glad to see that the truck ended up working fine in the end. I gave it a drive around the neighborhood and while the engine was as loud as a jet, the truck was is good condition.
My room was the same as I had left it all those years ago. I was glad to see this much of home had stayed the same. The same wooden floors, blue walls, and yellow lace curtains. It was exactly like a baby shower dream in here.
For dinner, Charlie just put some microwaveable lasagna into the microwave and we had that. It was decent.
"So," Charlie starts to say. "Can you cook?"
Was that supposed to be sexist? No. Surely not to his own daughter.
"Well, mom says I'm pretty good in the kitchen. However, I'm pretty clumsy with a knife."
That was about as much conversation that we had that night.
I found out that Charlie had registered me already for high school too so I would be starting in the next couple days.
Thankfully, the next couple days passed by in a blur because the weather continued to be the same so that every second felt like the one before it.
The only interesting  thing that happened was when I went outside to go jump in the puddles. I grabbed my yellow raincoat and started jumping from puddle to puddle while singing at the top of my lungs.
"SINGING IN THE RAIN! SINGING IN THE RAIN! WHAT A GLORIOUS FEELING I'M HAPPY AGAIN!I'M LAUGHING AT CLOUDS SO DARK UP ABOVE! I'M SINGING! SINGING! IN THE RAIN!!!"I sang.
I made sure to end in an epic splash where I climbed up on the hood of the car and then jumped off, landing in a puddle of water and mud.
It was quite unfortunate how a flock of birds seemed to fly away whenever I neared them. They looked so sweet and I couldn't figure out why they flew away.
Then I would clean up afterwards. By the time Charlie got home, it looked as if I had never even moved from my bed.
But here I was now, waking up to a new dawn where I was to start my first day at Forks High School.
The morning wasn't too bad. I arrived to school a little earlier than necessary and so I sat in the parking lot for a few minutes. I left the loud engine on to keep the car warm and people kept giving me strange looks. So I gave them strange looks back.
When it was time to go inside, I headed to the admissions office where there was a kind lady who gave me my class list and a few directions. She also gave me a slip to bring back at the end of the day after I had gotten it signed by each one of my new teachers.
My first class passed in a blur. It was English class and everything that we did in there I had already done in Arizona. How dumb did this school think I was?
Then, at the end of class, a kid with greasy black hair and a bad case of acne came up to me and told me his name was Rick.
"So babe," he said in a freakishly deep voice. "I here your name is Isabella Swan?"
"Just Bella will do. Thanks," I say as I pick up my stuff and start to head to the bald teacher Mr. Mason for him to sign the slip.
"Oh, okay Bella," Rick says.
"Ya," I say while Mr. Mason hands the slip back to me. "Like, do you think you could move out of the way?"
He was blocking my path.
Rick gave me a pissed off look but then side stepped so I could get through.
"Talk to you later babe!"he yells and then trots off.
Wait, people could trot right?
