➸ Bring Me The Unreal
❝I grew, day by day,
More moody, more irritable,
More regardless,
Of the feeling of others.❞
—Edgar Allan Poe, The Black Cat━━━━ㅤ
ㅤTHE theory of pirates conspiracy was so weird. That was why years in the island where people told me the story about pirates made no sense to me. I never enjoyed pirates story or even the origin of them, and of course, I never even once wanted pirates to be real.
I was not resting in peace. Sounds were swirling in my ears although I was already half-asleep. People often forgot that I needed eight hours of sleep a day, and that meant they had no reason to interrupt my happy time.
"Reyna, wake up! Quick!"
Hylla's voice woke me up. I should've known if there is someone who can wake me up that time, it must be her. It was not a sibling-bones like what you might think, but her voice was scary. There was death inside it, I couldn't stand hearing it for too long. I opened my eyes and took a sit meanwhile Hylla was pushing me to walk as soon as possible.
I shoved her off me. I gave her a death glare she taught me. But Hylla was the queen of death glare, my death glare didn't affect her. "Maybe you can try telling me why should I wake up in four at the AM?"
"Twenty to Four to be exact. But it is not the right time to argue." She glared at me in return, but of course it affected me. It always did. Try to look at Hylla's eyes when she glared, you would see the demon inside of her.
"So what happened?"
She bent her forehead. "Look, this is would be stupid but you gotta listen to me. The pirates are here. They are seeking for a revenge."
And that is what I called plot twist.
ㅤㅤ
"Run, Reyna. Just do."
The other girls were running aimlessly, and so was I. The island became crowded in a matter of second. Shrieks were everywhere. The pirate ship was big enough to be seen by everyone on the island, the ship was just as ugly, typical pirates' stuff. Everything was not so bad until someone who must be the leader of the old-fashioned pirates group came out and followed by more than twenty.
The pirates let two big black hounds out of their chains, giving them the freedom to hunt every available meat in the island. I used to remind myself that I am a meat every single time and soon, I would be a dead meat. The dogs were howling and followed by barking. They were trained to love speeds and hunts I suppose, it was the second most terrifying moment in my entire life. Being eaten by two mad dogs was not on my cool ways to die list.
Okay, brain, dont think. Just run. I told myself. I was heading to no where and my only wish was being alive. I was trying very hard to not look back and attempting not to listen to the pirates and the dogs, it felt so hard. They didn't know how to be quiet. The dogs were there, producing sounds that were as loud as Hylla.
The thought of me being eaten by the dogs made me totally forgot that Hylla was not with me. But I didn't have to look back or go looking for her. I just prayed that she would be save even though I didn't know to whom I prayed.
