I turn at a corner and from a distance, I see Mary standing in front of an oak tree. Her black, straight hair blowing gently in the wind, she looks both ways. I could tell she spotted me, she was already jogging towards me. It surprised me as she hugged me tight. After a while, she let go, and her joyful self said “Let’s go!” She encouraged me to jog with her, because she had to let out the energy she had within, hyped up for this night, looking forward to it all day. We got to the swing set and cold sand got into my shoes. I sit on one of the swings and shake it out while Mary slit her wrist, smearing her blood on the poles and let a few drops hit the white sand. I knew it didn’t hurt her, she’s done it before. Her arms are filled with cut marks that she’s caused herself. She was actually smiling while cutting through her skin. “What am I missing?” she looked around, pondering.

“Oh, I remember.” And I touched her shiny black hair.

“Right” she pushes my arm away from her hair and yanked out a few. She let go of it and exclaimed “I’ll go get Oliver. Meet at the golf course, right?” I nod, and already started to walk away. I notice that I’m in the light and up ahead are a few houses, not taking any chances of getting caught, I get swallowed into the darkness. I can hardly see, but it’s enough that I can find my way to an all green field. Seeing Allie and Dario sitting on the soft green grass, I speed up my pace. I find myself in a jog as I approach to where they were waiting. I plop myself down next to them and give them a quick wave.

“Where’s Mary?” Allie questioned with a worried face.

“She went to go get Oliver.” I explained as I lay back and gaze up into the stars. They join me, and we pointed out the brightest ones, laughing because Allie accidently pointed at an airplane. I hear a loud screech and I sit up startled. There was Oliver driving a dark blue car, taking a sharp right turn to get to us.

My eyes widen to the scene and I rub them to see if this was real. Yeah, it was. Oliver is crazy, it’s amazing. He just stole a car, I giggle to the thought of it. Both of my friends next to me were already standing and they took my hands to help me up. I was the first to the vehicle, as Dario followed, then Allie. I sat on the seat to the left and poked my head so that Oliver would see me, and punched him in the arm.

“What the hell, Oliver?” I burst out laughing.

Oliver shook his head, “You should know me by now.” he answers and drives off.
