After days of debate, she decided to meet him.
Akira wore a black skin tight jeans and a baige coloured sleeveless top which exposed her long slender arms and the pendant on her neck. She tied her hair up in a pony and let her fringe play on her delicate face.
Her dark black kajal brought out the elegance in her eyes and a tinge of pink gloss on her lips made it irresistible to ignore. Finally, she wore black heels to complete her look.
Akira looked at herself in the mirror, feeling satisfied, left home with a black sling to meet Jay after 5 long years.

Akira reached the gate of her school a few minutes earlier. She stood there glancing at her school drifting back to the days spent here with Jay and feeling the cool breeze on her face.
She felt Jay's hand on her arms. Before she could react, she heard him say, "Nice school, nice memories".

As she looked at him, she noticed the same charming smile which took her breath away.

To her surprise, he was dressed in a black jeans and a crisp white shirt. The attire she always felt best on a guy. They took time to admire each other.

Atlast he spoke...
"You look, ummmm, breathtaking!"
"You look great, " Akira managed to say, trying to hide her blush.

They walked down the road talking. The roads they used to walk 5 years ago. It felt different. But it felt good. They stopped at a coffee shop where they continued to talk.

Akira was having the best day of her life. The occasional shoulder brushes, the touch of his fingers, it felt like a dream.

As they placed their orders, Jay said,"There is something I have to tel you, Akira."
He seemed troubled and nervous.
"Anything, "Akira said with a reassuring smile.
"I have a girlfriend, Neha,"he said avoiding eye contact.

Before Akira could react, he went on. "She's everything you are. She even has your eyes. She knows everything about you. Including our meet today." He let out a sigh.

Akira couldn't find words. She was happy he moved on but something hurt inside.
She felt a sob rise in her throat. She swallowed hard.

"I'm happy for you," she managed to say with a smile.
"Can I see her?" Akira asked, realizing her question after asking it out loud.
Jay took out his phone to show the picture of a girl with beautiful features. Lucky her!

The next hour, Akira couldn't get herself to talk. She couldn't wait to get home.

As he dropped her back home, she shook hands with him quite formally.
She headed to her room where the tears could come without fear. She was happy for him but it didn't feel like her best friend anymore.

As she felt the rush of tears on her cheek.. She realized something. ..

Another mistake in her life-meeting Jay. . Yet again. .
