As days passed, Jay and Akira began to talk on a regular basis. Though their conversations weren't like the ones 5 years ago, it was something. After few days Akira could feel something wrong with Jay. She couldn't quite place a finger on it. She felt it had something to do with Neha.. Akira tried to ask him about it but something stopped her.
Akira pushed these feelings away and continued to be in touch with Jay but made sure to stay away from his personal life. If he had something to share, he would tell her, eventually.
After a couple of days the strange feeling that Jay wasn't okay continued in Akira's mind. She finally decided to ask him about it.
Akira: Hi Jay! I'd like to talk to you about something. Can you text me when you're free? Thanks. :-)
After sending this massage, Akira wondered about how she'd explain her intuition to Jay. After about an hour she received a message from Jay.
Jay: Hey Akira! Ya, sure! Tell me!
Akira let out a sigh and replied to him immediately.
Akira: Are u hiding something from me, Jay?
Jay appeared pretty startled at it. Akira received his reply within a minute.
Jay: I hav no idea what you're talking about Akira.
Akira let out another sigh before replying.
Akira: Jay, you're not okay for the past few days. Please don't deny it. I was hoping you'd tell me what's wrong but you didn't. If it's something you shouldn't be telling me then don't. I'm just worried about you.
Akira re-read the message before hitting 'send'.
After a few minutes when she received Jay's text she was taken aback.
It said: "Me and Neha broke up few weeks back. "
She took time to register this in her mind. She thought of a reply to his text. After a full one hour, she sent a message.:
"I'm so sorry. Do you wanna talk about it?"
"Where do I begin? " he replied.
****The break up convo between Jay and Neha.****
"You seem dull. Is everything okay, Neha?" Jay asked concerned.
From the time he told her about his meeting with Akira,he could sense a change in her behaviour.
"We need to talk, Jay," Neha said avoiding his gaze.
She could sense his muscles tense.
"Yeah!" He whispered, loud enough for her to hear it.
"From the time you met Akira, I could feel you change. I think you still have feelings for her. I don't wanna be second in your life. I don't even like her. If you still hav feelings for her, you shouldn't be with me. "
Neha said all this in a single breath.
"Its not like that. She's my first love.. she's special but you're no less to me. " he said.
"Then why do you still have her picture? "She questioned him, her anger rising.
Jay didn't really expect this question. He couldn't get rid of that picture even if he wanted to. Did he still love Akira? No. That's not possible. He's in love with Neha.
A number of questions lined up in his mind. He shook them away and came back to reality.
"Penny for your thoughts, Mister."asked Neha sarcastically.
"I don't know. I just can't throw it. " he said without looking at her.
He heard Neha let out a sigh.
"Good bye, Jay," she said, giving a peck on his cheek.
Jay took a minute to realize she's gone. Why didn't he move? Why didn't he stop her? Why didn't he throw the picture?Why? ?

As he explained this to Akira, she felt a tear slide down her cheek.
"I'm sorry, Jay,"was all she managed to say.
"Its not your fault, " he smiled. "Just wanted to tell you. Listen, I gotta go. I'll see you later. Bye."
Akira heard him disconnect the call. Did she ruin his life? Or did she do something more worse? One thing was for sure.... she felt guilty....
