Amara was going to share a house with a short-tempered pyromaniac and an unknown girl that powers she had stupidly saved for the sake of her conscience . Life was about to get interesting. A lot had happened that day. She had seen somebody nearly die more than once. She had almost aided in that person's death. And then there was the boy whom she still didn't have the name of due to his non-social and grumpy attitude. She had told them the next morning that they could stay for a while. She had nothing to do before that day and was almost certain that Katera would have nowhere to stay. The boy must of had no other options either as her answer was an unwilling nod.

She left the boy to his own devices. Katera needed some tending to. She had gone through too much in a day. Amara was not able to relate to what had just happened. She had just been transported to a realm beyond what her dulled human mind could believe. No family or knowledge of what lay ahead. Just a fresh start. Amara winced. A second chance. Wasn't that what she had laid in bed every night hoping for? The fate were not just being cruel to Katera they were being cruel to her. She lay beside her and let her gaze be that of sympathy though she had no way to sympathize. Katera took a shuddering breath. Amara could tell the poor thing was trying not to cry. Amara could hear the clock tick impervious to what was happening around it a Katera let out a small croak of speech.

"What am I doing here?" the girl said in a cracking voice. Her misty blue eyes were swollen from crying. Amara realized she could speak English one of the few Unevian languages she was decently fluent in. Amara herself was close to tearing up. Not in sadness and confusion but in frustration. What was she supposed to do? She did what she could.

"I don't know" was the only words Amara could speak. There was nothing more she could say.

Could I get back? Katera whimpered. Amara didn't have the strength to answer that question for fear of what her reaction would be. She let her expression tell Katera the truth. A silence as Katera realized the meaning of Amara's expression. Katera let out a huge sob as the answer truly sunk in. She was crying, soft at first and then growing as the reality struck again and again. Katera was letting every single thought and feeling from when she had gotten here in her tears. Amara put her arm around the miserable girl as she let her cry.

Hours passed as she wept. Soon she quieted to a small whimper. Amara wasn't sure where the other boy was. She gave one last action of support, a small smile as she got off the couch. Katera had stopped crying but she was, on the inside howling with sadness. Her eyes told it all. Amara left to make lunch. Katera hadn't eaten much at breakfast.

Amara was approached by the boy. He looked as if he was at war with himself, not sure what he was saying. "What happened to the girl?" I was surprised by his attitude. He certainly seemed different than earlier that morning. She told him what had happened from the moment she saw Katera leaving out a couple parts of it. He looked like he was in disbelief for a few seconds. That wasn't surprising. What was was the events she was about to see.

Amara came back to the living room to see him and Katera. There were four other floors. Amara could tell it was no coincidence that the two of them were there together. It wasn't. The two of them were talking in Dracian. She easily detected phrases "like cannot be done" and "impossible". Katera clearly didn't understand most of it but the meaning to the boy's words could not be pushed aside.

Amara watched right there as Katera's voice drained of all futility. "I will go home!" Katera cried out with determination. Her eyes glinted with a silvery light as her call reverberated across the room.

Amara realized the boy was staring straight at her. She wondered if he knew how long she had been there. "Translation please". She repeated what she understood but her words seemed weak compared to Katera's roar.

Amara figured she needed answers too. "I believe I should at least know the names of who stays under my roof. What is yours?"

"Blake" was his simple reply. Finally, she at least knew his name. But that seemed to be all she could find out about the secretive figure. Maybe soon. For now Amara would wait.
