Because he is so famous! Of course that's the lamest reason anyone will have to like him. Well, I look into his personality more than anything.
1. He is a selfless person who cares about others wellness. Be it Ron, Ginny or Mr. Weasley, he has always been there to protect them risking his own life.
2. He actually fears of losing people he loves. He is sensitive. He has lost a lot of valuable people from his life. He knows to evaluate people. He has emotions and is not ashamed of showing it in front of people.
3. He is generous. Remember that Quidditch World Cup where he bought the omnioculars for Ron and Hermione? And the Triwizard Tournament's thousand galleons that he gave to Fred and George without any hesitation? Do I need to say more?
4. He is valiant. Finding the Philosopher's Stone, Killing the Basilisk, Fighting with Dementors, becoming the Triwizard champion against all odds, training Dumbledore's Army, Kissing Ginny in front of Gryffindor team (that requires a lot of courage!) And last but not the least the assassination of Voldemort...Phew! There I said it all.
5. He is a great friend. Defends his friends, takes every possible trouble to save them. He is not embarrassed to befriend unusual friends such as Luna.
6. He is nice to everyone who is nice to him and the opposite could be said about people who is worse to him. Can you think of any such person?
7. He wants love, he needs love. He is a fierce lover who knows to protect his love lady (Ginny in Chamber of Secrets aww). He is quite jealous and possessive as well but that's something I find really cute (Again Ginny in Half blood Prince).
8. He can't stand seeing people doing wrong. He is not afraid of protesting in spite of putting himself in ordeals but he always get out of it flawlessly.
AND
9. He wears spectacles. Yup, guys with glasses are a weakness of mine ;)
If a guy like him would have ever asked me out I would have said yes in a heartbeat. He is my type of guy.
And what I hate about him? Two things- he is impulsive and the crucial one is, it took him so long to develop his feelings for Ginny.
