I walk out of the headmistress office in a daze. Has my whole life been a lie? Just who am I, really? Has anyone met the real me? The girl from before is leaning against the pillar near the door. I walk up to her, still uncertain about myself.

"I did not formally introduce myself just now. Khaisha Martinez. Nice to meet you."

"Ah, Clara Maplewood. Just what are you?"

"I'm a fairy. An elemental fairy to be exact. I'm guessing you're a warlock?"

"Yeah. Still a big shock to me." Something trickle in, at the back of my mind, "I don't remember saying anything out loud, but you replied. What's that about?"

She smile, so soft and innocent looking, with a hint of playfulness in there. "I can read minds. Like Professor X. Just with the help of my earth elements."

I nod. She guides me back to her room and I plop face down on her bed. Forgetting life, forgetting that Amber is dead. Forgetting everything and just fall into the abyss.

When I open my eyes, fatigue never seems to leave me. I turn my head to the right, where Amber lays. She looks so peaceful. I reach out my hand and place it softly on her cheek, stroking it lightly.

Although I could still feel the deep cutting pain of my crush gone, there is still other things to do. According to the headmistress yesterday, she pass me my schedule, uniforms and a book. Apparently, she is a warlock. Not the strongest but still. She has many years to perfect her control and magic.

"This book has been enchanted by me. It contains all books in the world. All you have to do is to think of a title and it will become the book. Which is why, you have to know book titles at the back of your hand. The book will automatically bookmark the page you last stopped at.

There is only one book in the world and is only bound to one user forever. Even after death. Unless you transfer it to someone else."

I look down, it is about the size of any normal book, not too small, not too big. The cover is a plain matt black with some gold designs on it. Beautiful. I guess, I am a bookworm at heart.

"This will guide you. Here is a list of books that is useful for you, and your schedule. It is according to your class and your preference. I wish you all the best on your journey."

She pass me two scroll, one tied elegantly with a silver ribbon. The other, with a gold one.

I sigh. I had mention my favourites, hobbies, and she pass me a list to choose from. It was just a matter of finding the right slots and putting me in the right area. Since she did mention that I am a warlock, I am going to be training in a class full of them, only for certain modules.

Well, to my slight surprise, the first class is normal. As in, theory work. I have chosen Western Culinary and it looks like an ordinary class. Not counting floating items made by magic or claw marks or bottles that is filled with extremely red drinks which looks like blood.

"Hello. I am Miss Kristy. Class, we have a new student today. Please introduce yourself."

"I'm Clara Maplewood." That is all I am saying. I still do not know thid school. I do not know what is going on and I am going to figure it out before I do anything rash or stupid.

Miss Kristy points to an empty desk at the back of the class. I settle down and look towards my desk below me. It has a tablet imbedded into it with a stylus at the side. Cool!

Lessons on theory work pass by quite quickly and I am thankful. It was slightly boring. At the same time, dread wash over me. Next lesson, magic training.

I am told that I am a warlock, but somehow I cannot do anything. Thank goodness for it being open spaced. The instructor, Mr Kenneth specializes in all kinds of magic, fairy and warlock alike as he is half blooded.

As I walk closer, I could feel the stares of everyone, burning holes in my back. I breathe deeply, once, twice, before walking up to the instructor.

He look at me vaguely then straighten up as he examine me. Like looking at me under a microscope. That is how small I feel right now. "Maplewood?" his voice gruff and fierce. Making my name sound slightly like a scolding.

"Yes sir." I hastily reply. This is one guy that you will never want to get on his bad side.

"Go with the rest. Class! Gather!"

We all stand in a straight line in front of him. I place my hands behind my back. "As a magic user, you need to know your potential."

He walk up and down the line, absolutely no emotions on his face. "As we train, I expect each, and everyone of you to get better. To be better. Am I clear?"

"Yes sir!" In one voice, we all exclaim.

"Good. I want each of you to find a space and practise your basics. Clara! Come." I walk towards him, slightly in fear, curiosity and apprehension.

"I need you to find your core. Your center. It is what makes you stronger, what triggers your magic. Soon, you shall be like them. If not better." He points at the students.

Some has their hands up, fingers waving, doing some sort of trick. Some at ease with their magic. Different colours appear, setting off sparks like fireworks. It is truly a wonderful sight to see. I nod my head and reply an affirmative.

I sit down on the grass and close my eyes. Using some meditation methods online and reading fanfictions of Blair Sandburg from The Sentinel, I breathe deeply and just like that. I am gone, spiralling into my mind. Into my memories.
