Chapter 2: Confrontations

~Maya's POV~

I craned my head ever so slightly along the wooden beams of Auggies bedroom door, being extremely careful not to draw any attention to myself. Now looking at it, his bedroom just screamed... Auggie. It was so childish yet adventurous, kinda like Josh. I couldn't make out what they were saying, just a series of low pitched mumbles; probably about some insignificant matter of Auggies life. That's what I love about Josh, even though Auggie can be a real pain, he still cares passionately about him no matter what. Suddenly, my secret ponderings were rather rudely interrupted by the sound of a creaky floorboard. Before I realised Auggie and Josh were standing at the foot of his bed looking at me in a very judging demeanour.

~Josh's POV~
'Were you... Spying on us?!' 'Nnno... Yyes...' Her cheeks turned a rather tomato-like shade of deep scarlet as my eyebrows furrowed in a mix of confusion and disappointment. 'Auggie, I think Riley wanted you to help her with something' And with that he ran of, barging into Maya in the process. 'Maya... I know it must be hard for you but you have to understand I just don't feel that way about you.' I said in restrain of proffering my true feelings. 'Oh, well I thought.' As she said this, her head dropped and she slumped into the bed in tears. 'Look, I'm sorry about all of this but...' My words were interrupted my a strong pulling force on the collar of my shirt. 'I guess we have a bed all to ourselves' Maya smirked. 'What are you saying?' I asked, with more excitement than I expected.
