So a lot of you ask me what apps I use to make my covers so I just decided to show all of you.

Apps
- Superimpose
- Phonto
- PicsArt
- PhotoStudio (sometimes)

These are the apps that I use the most. The one that I use the most and I think is most important is superimpose. I think it costs 0.99¢ but there might be a free version.

I created a short tutorial on one of my book covers to show you how I make my covers:

PLEASE NOTE: This is just one book cover style I am showing you. There are so many other ways and styles you can do.

Okay so first I go to Superimpose. I usually pick a background (depending on the mood of the story) and then I find a picture of the character(s). Sometimes it's really annoying to mask the picture(s) so a lot of times I'll just look up transparent pics of the characters. For example if your trying to find a transparent Justin Bieber picture you can look up 'Justin Bieber transparent' or 'Justin Bieber png'. And the picture will look like it does above and you won't have to do any masking.

After I find the picture(s) I'll position it/them in the spot I want it/them to be

After I find the picture(s) I'll position it/them in the spot I want it/them to be. I like to use different blend modes and filters so it fits the colors and mood of the background. There are so many masking tools you can use to make it blend more into the background.

Once I've got the characters down I usually add some sort of overlay to make the cover kind of come to life lol

Once I've got the characters down I usually add some sort of overlay to make the cover kind of come to life lol. Here I used smoke but you can really use just about anything. Although this may not seem like an important step, it will actually make your cover look a lot better and more interesting.

Next I go to Phonto. Phonto is an app where you can put different texts on your picture. What I really like about it is that there are so many different fonts you can choose from. You can even download fonts from dafont.com to Phonto on your phone. Here I used the American Horror Story font to give the cover a kind of creepy mood. You can change the filter too. You can even curve, shadow, or underline your text.

Next I will sometimes go to PicsArt. Here you can do soooo many things. I usually use this app for effects because it has so many good ones. (Note that I did not put any effects on this cover in this app because I didn't feel as though it was needed).

Finally sometimes I will go back to Superimpose and add movie credits on the bottom. They always look cool on covers 😝. You can add them by looking up 'Movie Credits transparent' or 'Movie Credits png'. Once you save it you can just easily add it onto your photo in Superimpose.

So this is the final edit! Hope this short tutorial was somewhat helpful and if it was please let me know :)

Also if any of you would like a certain tutorial for something just ask!

Thanks again and if you have any questions just comment ☺️
