I'm re-writing the story, almost from scratch. These chapters have not been updated. I left them here because I can see people still reading by their votes. I will republish the last chapter with the update to keep the chapters in order. Sorry for any confusion! Thank you for all your support 💚

The meeting with hashish and angel went very went and I think we managed to get what they were looking for done. The union they created really opened my mind to what I could be doing better for my workers. I loved being in a position to help people, and these weren't crazy demands. They asked for ten-minute brakes and paid vacation, and I could totally understand that. they weren't like me were I work for days on end, they have lives, unlike myself.

When I went into this business I always thought of my workers happy and willing to be here. So as long as their requests weren't crazy I went with them. You can really tell the quality of their work when people are happy and enjoy doing things.

when I couldn't find any business things to get done I decided to call my assist. "Hey, I was wondering if there was anything you have me penciled to do? I'm waiting on Steve for that project I told you about..." I finished awkwardly not knowing what else to say.

"No I don't think so, I just have two more meetings and it's just over budgeting stuff I'll call you after to tell you have they went," she said super sweetly.

"Umm okay well I guess I'll just go check on how the progress is going on the coding floor, do you know hashish? He's so super qualified I feel bad that he's just the manager of the programming department." I said more just thinking out loud.

"How about you take the day off?you work too much " She said. just like that, completely ignoring my comment. I looked at the clock and it said three fifteen and turned to sixteen.
"But it's still so early in the day," I said awkwardly. What would I do just sit at home?

"It's Friday Xander... live a little." She said, "why don't you invite that girl you meet the other night over for dinner?" She said. Thinking of my house and the neighborhood it's in it definitely was not what a programmer could afford. Also, it's worth mentioning that I can't remember the last time I cooked anything. so I quickly decided against that.

leaving my building I saw the sunlight as I walked outside of the shade it blinded my eyes. my skin warm, and also felt almost naked in the daylight. It was always dark out when I got to work and dark when I left. In a lot of ways I was happy but I felt like I was so focused on work I forgot how to have fun.

I walked down the busy street already feeling awkward in my pants suit next to the people around me dressed so casual. about halfway down the block a few guys were talking about tours of the city. it was mostly for tourist but I thought it would pass the time So I went on a tour of the city, one tourist would take. I learned a lot of things about the city I grew up in. but I didn't really pay much attention. we ended up downtown I walked around until I saw a bunch of people walking into the mall.

Then I went in, doing anything really to pass the time. I thought about going back to work or home, but there wasn't anything to do at work and going home sounded boring. Eventually, I made it to a store called "mac". It was interesting so I went in and this woman with a way too much makeup came up to me. "Hello, my name is Amanda. Is there anything specific you are looking for today?" she said a little high pitch.

"Umm, I really don't know the first thing about makeup. But I'll buy whatever as long as you teach me how to use it." I said looking around at all the beautiful people around me. Men and woman were sitting in booths where saleswoman stood around and we're trying the product out on them and the girl to me to one with an excited look on her face.

We ended up spending three hours just talking about makeup. what would look good with my complexion and everything. When I learn about new things I like, I try to know everything as fast as possible. which I mean, makeup was kind of interesting. By the time it was over I was following about ten makeup artist on Instagram including her. I also spent at least a few thousand on makeup.

"Hey, my shift ends in like ten minutes do you want to grab some dinner?" She said after our long conversation on contouring. which I still only partially understood.

"Sure any way to repay you for all this advice," I said grabbing all my bags. "Let me take these to my car and I'll meet you outside of... where would you like to eat?" I said my arms struggling to hold all the bags of makeup.

"How about the cheesecake factory? And it's fine I can pay for my food, you have already spent enough." She said giggling.

"Okay," I said picking up my bags.

"Okay," she said happily going to greet one more customer. I left trying to carry all my bags without dying. Once I managed to get to my car I put it gently in the back when I walked back to the mall. Well, that's my workout for the day. I thought, even though I never work out.

I eventually made it home around eleven and looked around my house. it was decorated by a professional but no one ever really saw it. maybe I should invite Amanda over and do something? I ended up telling her everything over our dinner. I really felt like I had made a friend in her. I sat down on the couch and before long I fell asleep.

I woke up the next day and decided I wanted to work on a project I had been keeping on the back burner for a while. I had been working on a software program where you could create anything on a 3D platform that looked like Photoshop but instead of being 2D it was 3D. It still had a bunch of bugs to fix and I needed to do a lot of programming still.

So for the rest of the week, I worked on that and I was absorbed in my work... but I have been better at not staying at work at a decent time. well, I haven't stayed for three days straight like I had a bad habit of before. so that's a start. I also got a lot of help from hashish who really made it come together. Michelle had a big part in that I think because she usually got off work around that time. She called me after work the first day, and I liked talking with her. So it became a habit.

it's been a week so I decided I would ask her out. I had been thinking about it all day when she called. "hey," she said happily.

"hey, I was wondering if you had anything planned this weekend," I asked.

"no, are you asking me out?" she said cutely.

" yeah, I was wondering if you wanted to go camping with me. Me and my friend Amanda were going and she invited her boyfriend so I wanted to know I you wanted to go." Amanda actually planned this so that I would get a chance to get to know Michelle.

"Ah, I see, your using me so your not a third wheel, "she said playfully.

"maybe," I said. Gaining some courage from out of nowhere I added: "or maybe I wanted to make it a couple thing."

"oh, well... in that case count me in,"
