Hogwarts, school of wizardry. Yes I am a wizard, a powerful one as my father use to say. I still wonder how strong I really am. My name is Serenity Black, daughter of the late Sirius Black and I am officially eleven years old.I have black hair with white streaks, freckles, a black cape, and bright yellow eyes. I don't have a family to take care of me anymore so I have decided to enroll myself into Hogwarts for the reason being I have no where else to go...

I lived in a small town in the muggle world called Smithensville and it was terrible there. I live in a tree, yep... I found a tree in the woods and it had a nice hole that I hid in so the police didn't find me and take me to the orphanage, I already escaped there once. Well it was a bad  little town to live in, so bad that Smithensville blew up and turned to smithereens. It was a "like magic" the local muggles said, because it was.

There is an evil wizard who masters in fire magic. He was tall with long black hair with sort of a goatee with fiery red eyes and a red robe lined with gold and big iron boots. He was the one who blew the small town up. I took shelter in the tree tops as I saw my home tree being burnt to a crisp. He saw me in the trees and he knew where I was. He glared at me, lifted his hand and started to recite a spell and I saw the trees catch fire. I leaped onto the next branch and my foot slipped. I fell at least nine feet and I think my left arm broke. I screamed in misery and the evil wizard drew close to me. He put one foot on my chest and said "this will be your end young one..." and he lifted his hand. I focused on his hand and used some sort of magic. This would be the first time I use magic ever.

His wrist twisted the wrong way and broke. He yelled in agony and grabbed his wrist. I stood up and started to run into the woods. He chased me throwing fireballs at me down the way. I would try to dodge them all but one hit my foot. I would have fallen if it weren't for me catching myself with my magic. When I reached the edge of the woods I looked around for a place to hide at but it was just a street ahead of me that was backed up with traffic from fleeing muggles. I ran up the street where I saw a taxi. I hopped in and hid in the back seat. I saw him run across the street into the other side of the woods.

"Hey kid! were all tryna get outta here too, get outta the taxi unless you have cash!" the taxi driver said and I jumped out of the car and glimpsed at the burning town. I will never be able to go back. I sat on the street and remembered about my family photos. I have to get them! I hope they aren't burnt along with the tree.

I run to my tree home and see the top half is burnt, but not the bottom. I run into the hole of the tree and see most of my stuff is still in tact, not to much was burned. I pic up my photo album and see my photos have been gone through, the one of my father was gone. I was furious! Someone had taken his photo more so had found my house. I thought about the evil fire wizard I saw earlier, but how would he, he was chasing me the whole time. I heard a thud in the corner of the room and saw my bags moving. I cautiously moved closer to the bag, holding one of my survival knives with my good hand. I dropped the knife and quickly snatched the bags and yelled to only see an old looking rat but it had my father's pictures in its mouth, quickly I grabbed the rat and took the photo before it could run away. It was strange because the rat was missing one of its front toes, but I didn't give it two thoughts and I threw him outside.

My arm was still broken and I had no way in healing it, the closest hospital is in the city and that is at least five miles away, The King's Cross station I over heard, had a train to Hogwarts, but that is on the other side of the city, I could just take the bus but to both it would take too long because the train leaves at 11:00 AM and its already 9:55 AM. I grabbed a bandage from one of the houses not burned to the ground yet and wrapped it. I gritted my teeth for the pain was very bad, but I had to bear it.
