Chapter 2 - Amber

Amber pov

When I walked through the doors of the high school I saw him, my crush. His name is Niall, Niall Horan, he had perfect blond hair, beautiful sparkling blue eyes, he was a senior and well I could go on, and on about him forever, but I'm gonna stop. He didn't know I liked him, and I didn't want him to find out. The only person who knew was my best friend, Jason. He has been my best friend since fourth grade, but ever since he got that new girlfriend of his, he hasn't had enough time for me.
Well, I decided to do something even I didn't expect, I walked up to him, what was I doing, I don't even know what I'm going to say!

"Hey Niall." instantly I wished I hadn't of done it.

"Oh Hey... um" he sounded confused.

"Amber?" I was not surprised that he didn't know my name.

I mean, he was very popular and I really wasn't. Niall is on the football team, but he isn't like all the other jocks, he doesn't sleep around or hook up with random girls he meets on the street. He's a genuine and sweet guy, from what I've heard from Jason and other People around the school.

"Oh yeah... Amber, we have History together, Mr Frank's class." Wow, I guess he did know who I was.

"Yeah, we do. I really hate that class, and the teacher." I said kinda annoyed.

"Don't worry, me too. He always gives me F's and I don't even know why." I laughed at his comment. He gave me a puzzled look.

"Why are you laughing?" He looked very confused now. His jaw was slightly clenched and it was very attractive. I was laughing because he never pays attention, and is disrespectful in class and he wonders why he gets bad grades.

"Well it's because you.." The loud bell rang signaling us to leave to our first period classes.

"Let's talk at lunch?" Niall said with a smile. oh my gosh, are you kidding me? He's got to be joking, I didn't think he'd even want to be seen with me. I was so excited I almost forgot to say anything.

"Sure" I said very quickly before leaving to my class so I would not be late.

I saw Jason down the hall sitting on the floor in front of his locker. Jason was tall, black hair, green eyes and fair skin tone. Jason was very handsome, but he's my best friend and that's all he'll ever be. I walked over to him on my way to my class.

"Hey Jason, how's it going? Why are you sitting on the floor? We need to get to class." I said in a friendly tone. He didn't acknowledge me or my presence for a couple minutes then he spoke up.

"Hey Love" wow, two words. he sounded a bit upset. He didn't even look up at me. I didn't know if i should ask, because it probably had to do with that stupid girl Ashley that he has been dating for a while now. She had long brown hair and bright green eyes. She was pretty but, was so rude and annoying that it didn't matter that she was pretty I still hated her. Her voice was high and squeaky, it made me cringe.

"Is something wrong?" Jason finally looked up at me.

"Why would something be wrong Amber?" He sounded confused and had a puzzled look on his face.

"Well, Jason your sitting on the floor in the hall when you should be in class, there's gotta be something wrong." I could tell when something was bothering him. It wasn't even that he wasn't in class it was just that I could tell.

"You don't need to help me I'm okay." He could be so complicated sometimes. He wants to handle things by himself, but sometimes you need someone to talk to. So I sat on the floor next to him.

"Ashley, she... She um cheated on me." He sounded so upset it made me mad. I was furious when I heard that she did this to my best friend. I hated Ashley, but now I hate her so much more.

"I'm so sorry Jason. She's a horrible person and she doesn't deserve you anyways." I meant that too. He deserved someone way better than her. He was a very sweet guy, and not to mention he had the looks to get any girl at riverside.

"Thanks Amber I really appreciate you trying to help me. I'm going to be okay." He sounded confident that everything would be just fine. I was very happy that he was okay and that he wouldn't be upset about.

"That's good. Let's get to class then, were already super late. Oh and by the way, Niall asked me to lunch!" I had to tell him. He always wanted me to tell him everything about what happens so I couldn't just forget about it.

"What Amber? That's great. I'm so excited for you. I hope you have a great time. Well we better get going, see you later Amber!" He sounded happy for me but it was almost like a fake happy. Like he didn't want me going with Niall, but I just let it slide cause I knew he was upset already.

We got up and left to our classes.We had different first period classes so we parted ways. Well today actually hadn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be. Niall asked me to lunch. Which was amazing and I never expected it to ever happen on the last day of school. Jason wasn't having a great day which made me a little bit upset but him being confident that everything is going to be fine made me not so upset about it. I waked in class but couldn't even pay attention because I kept thinking about lunch.
