Alice was in France.

It was her first time away from home, much less abroad. And it was a large step too, considering how she had never stepped past campus grounds or gone beyond the grand gate of her mansion.

Alice dragged along her luggage, turning her head to find a familiar face in the crowd. She had been instructed to stay at her cousin's manor while she studied at Collège Françoise Dupont, a rather prestigious school.

"Mademoiselle Alice?"

Alice whipped her head around, turning to find a man dressed in formal attire, much like a butler.

"Are you Mademoiselle Marie Alice Blackwood?" he asked, a touch of the French accent in his voice.

"Er, yes. Yes, that's me," she stammered.

"Then, please follow me. Madame Blackwood is waiting in the limousine."

With that, he turned and lead Alice to her new home.

Isabel shivered.

French winter wasn't supposed to be cold to her, but she shivered.

"It's so cold today," she sighed.

She made herself some hot chocolate. Well, actually, there was already hot chocolate powder. All she had to do was to pour out all the powder into her builder's mug and mix with some hot water. The aroma of the drink filled the apartment.

Heat radiated off the mug, so she placed her hand near it for some warmth. She took a sip of the drink.

"Gah! Too hot, way too hot!" she cried, regretting her decision immediately.

Outside the window, snow came falling down from the pale blue sky like bits of cloud that had dropped off. A cold breeze blew into the apartment, even though all the windows were locked. Isabel rubbed her arms. Goosebumps.

Not only did the breeze make her shiver, it also messed up her hair. Now it was even messier than before. She reached for her white hair clip.

"Surprise!" Ruffus popped out of nowhere.

Isabel was not the least bit surprised. In fact, she was annoyed.

"Ruffus!" she groaned.

The French girl was inexplicably reminded of when she had discovered that she was a Miraculous Holder.

It had been freezing, but she'd found refuge in her apartment. A gush of warm air had greeted her, much to her relief and slight bewilderment.

Warmth hadn't been the only thing that had surprised her.

Something was glowing on the table. She tried to block the light with her hands by covering part of her eyes and picking up the object gingerly. It stopped glowing.

It was a white box with blue symbols carved on it. Isabel opened the box.

Inside was a snowflake hairclip!

The snowflake had five fractals. Questions sprang into her mind.

"What is this?" she asked.

She examined the hairclip carefully. Is it neon or something? she wondered.

Isabel shrugged and pinned it on. A soft snap could be heard when the hairclip was locked in place.

Suddenly, she was blinded by light...glowing on her hair.
