In the classroom

Clara was missing.

It didn't take long for Alice to remember everyone's names. It was like memorizing the digits of Pi, a slice of pie.

Clara, who grew beautiful flowers in the school garden, was missing. According to the rumor mill, Jasmine had crossed the line and destroyed Clara's prized rose.

Of course, Clara was furious. She had to be, her precious plant was utterly and completely obliterated. No wonder she was gone.

Alice blinked. A thought had but a fleeting moment to live in her head before she dismissed the idea.

Was Clara akumatized?

"Imagine how mad Clara must be," Isabel commented.

Indeed, Clara was one who had a hot temper, and she had a soft spot only for her garden.

Alice remained silent, analyzing the situation mentally.

It wasn't after the lessons ended that Alice finally spoke.

"Clara's coming back," she concluded.

No, akumatized Clara is coming back, Isabel wanted to say, but that would be a dead giveaway.

"She'd give Jasmine a taste of her own medicine, I presume," Alice went on. "Either that or she'll pierce her with thorns."

She took off her glasses and wiped the mist off of it. Then she placed it back on, adjusting it's position.

Alice looked up, her cold blue eyes turning a shade of grey as the light grew dim.

"I dare say," she spoke, "Clara's back."

As if on cue, the lights suddenly went out. Loud shrieks were heard from the garden.

Isabel rose from her chair, trying to get a closer look through the window. In less than a few seconds, she realised that the entire school was in chaos.

Alice ran.

As a detective, it was important to be there in the crime scene.

But...

"Alice, no!" Yuuki flew out of Alice's bag.

Alice whipped around and grabbed the kwami, hiding her in her hands.

"Shh!" Alice glanced around, hoping no one was looking. "What's wrong?"

"You need to transform," Yuuki told Alice, lowering her voice.

Alice took a deep breath.

Was she ready?

"I can't," she sighed. "I'm not cut out for this."

"Yes, you are!" her kwami encouraged. "Ladybug and Chat Noir picked you for a reason!"

Alice smiled. Maybe she could do it.

No, you can't.

She scowled, turning away.

What would your parents think? They'd throw you out if they found out. Just like Sarah.

"Go find someone else," she spat, her voice filled with bitterness.

Alice suddenly felt a growing feeling of negativity blooming in her heart.

Oh no.

She gulped, shaking her head violently. She can't be akumatized.

"I'm sorry," she apologized to the hurt-looking kwami. "I shouldn't have said that."

She stood up to her full height, somewhat accepting her destiny.

"Yuuki, please transform me."

Isabel knew she had only one thing to do.

Transform.

But, she hadn't done it before. It was too risky, wasn't it?

At the same time, however, she felt excited. She had never done it before. Her heart raced.

"Ruffus," she whispered as she ran to hide behind a wall in the gym. "Transform me!"

As soon as the words left her lips, Ruffus winked at her and was sucked into her hairclip. Her surroundings were washed away in a flood of icy blue, and unbidden, an excited smile tugged at her lips. This was it. She was becoming a superhero, just like Ladybug and Chat Noir!

She swiped a hand across her face on instinct, something that she knew instantly was a mask forming on the top half of her face.

She ran a hand over her hair, wolf-like "ears" forming in their wake.

Reaching out her arms, her short-sleeved white blouse was replaced with bandages and pastel blue gloves that ended just above her elbows. At the tip of her knuckles were small but retractable claws.

A tingling sensation went through her spine. She now wore a grey shirt, but something else was forming. She could feel a thick white cloth wrapping around her waist and tying a loose knot by itself.

Then came a blue sleeveless suit that reached her toes, covering most of her grey shirt except the collar. Intricate swirl-like patterns were weaved onto it. A shiny white whip was also tucked at her hips in a whip holder.

The white sparkles started to disappear, signalling that her transformation was complete.

Isabel - no, Loup Blanc felt different. She was a hero now. And she had to do something about the chaos.

Sasha snapped her head up, her ocean blue eyes sharpening.

Screams pierced the air, and she rose abruptly from her chair, striding towards an empty classroom, the very epitome of cool calmness. She deposited her bag in a far corner and opened it, allowing Evva to fly out.

"Ready?" the kwami asked, a glint of anticipation in her eyes.

It was the kind of look one would have seen in the hunters of old, the kind one rarely saw nowadays. It was a look of anticipation of the hunt, excitement to feel the thrill of chasing down your prey and striking it down, victorious.

Sasha took a deep breath and let it out. She was ready for this. She had to be. Before, she had subconsciously pushed away any opportunity for her to transform. She had been scared. But now, someone had been akumatised, and Sasha had power. She couldn't just stand back and do nothing. From what Evva had told her, she had a team, so she wasn't alone.

Besides, her conscience was already all but screaming at her to do something already.

A similar look sparked in her eyes as she nodded briefly.

"Hunting time, Evva."

Evva turned into a swirl of pale blue that phased right through her shirt only to be sucked into her necklace, and her world faded away to white. As if on instinct, she brushed a hand over her eyes. Something cool formed over the top part of her face, and she was fairly sure that it was mask.

Her white T-shirt turned a plain grey, and instead of the loose size she preferred, this one fit her form just right. A jacket settled over her shoulders, light and perfect for the weather. Twisting her head back, she realised that she had wings. Upon closer inspection, they were obviously fake, but still. Awesome.

She held out of her hands as white gloves appeared in a wash of blue-tinged white light.

Her jeans and sneakers turned into snow white pants and matching boots, and as a finishing touch, a retractable spear dangled on her hips.

Sasha blinked as she returned to reality, and a slight smile formed on her face as she pulled her hood up.

Lovac Sunca was on the hunt.

Lovac pulled out her spear and gave it a few experimental spins. Then, with a brief, almost feral grin, she gripped the – blunted, she noted with some dismay– spear and ran out into the fray.

Many students undoubtedly remembered the akuma attacks from the time of Ladybug and Chat Noir. So, thankfully, all of them had the good sense to part out of her way, especially when they caught sight of her excited, almost manic grin.
