"So he just... left with her?" Danielle asks as she makes herself a tea. Carter nods her head rubbing her eyes, she hasn't heard from Cherish in three days and she afraid to call Luke. "You know... as much as I hate this, and I know Luke should've talked to you about this figured out some arrangements, I think... and you might hate me, but I think it's best that Luke gets to know her daughter."
Carter looks up at Danielle confused. "Who's... who's side are you on Dani?"
She puts honey in her tea. "I'm not siding with anyone Carter, I'm just saying that I don't think Cherish deserves to grow up without a father figure,"
"And that's why she has Harry," she argues. "Because he's been there for Carter since day one, not Luke, Harry."
"Okay yes I understand that, but when she gets older she would question it Carter," she tells her as she sets the bottle of honey down. "I hated not knowing who my parents were. You know that and I don't think Cherish deserves to go through what I went. Yes she has her mother, but not her father."
Carter shrugs her shoulders. "She would have never questioned it because she would never know,"
"Her last name. It's Cherish Hemmings, not Cherish Evans,"
Allison watch Cherish from the doorway of her room. Luke is helping her pick out an out. "Um... do you want a skirt or some pants?" Luke asks his daughter.
Cherish hums, looking at the rack of clothes and pants. She grabs some black jeans and a grey shirt. Luke looks at the clothes. "You want to wear that?" She nods her head, smiling. "Do you need help putting it on or?"
"No I'm good," she says. Luke nods his head. "Are we going to get food? I'm hungry."
"Of course we are princess. I'll be downstairs," Luke turns and sees Allison in the doorway. He approaches her and she moves. He closes the door behind him.
"Luke we need to talk," Allison says. Luke rolls his eyes and ignores her. Allison shakes her head, following him.
Luke didn't want to talk at all. He didn't want to hear Allison's excuse. They had been careful and now that Luke thinks about it, they haven't had sex in about three to four months. "I know you're angry, but you should be happy," she tells him. "We're finally going to be family-- a real family."
Luke scoffs. "That's all you care about? Being a real family?" He asks her, looking at her from across the kitchen. "What does being a real family even mean Allison?"
"A real family means you and me having a child of our own. One that is made from yours and mines genetics," Allison claims.
"Why does it matter so much to you,"
"Because you gave Carter a child that she doesn't fucking deserve!" Allison yells.
"What does fucking mean?" Allison turns around and sees Cherish. Luke shakes his head as he walks over to her. "Daddy can we eat now?"
"Sure baby girl," Luke picks her up and looks over at Allison. "And maybe your don't deserve my love."
Carter is walking around the living room, worried as hell. She hasn't heard from Cherish or Luke and she's afraid that something might have happened to her baby. She's all alone in the house and she's worried that Luke might have ran away with her.
There's a knock on the door and she sighs as she walks towards the door. She opens it, seeing Cherish and Luke. He has her on his hip and she smiling. "We brought food!"
Luke puts her down and she takes the paper bag and runs to the kitchen. Carter lets Luke in and he thanks her. "I... um... I don't... it's not Friday yet,"
"I know, but I suggested that we come eat lunch with you and I'm having problems and I need advice,"
Carter nods her head as they walk to the kitchen. She's mad obviously and doesn't want to see Luke at all, but he had thought of her, so maybe she should be a little generis.
"So what's... going on. What kind of advice would-- do you need?" Carter asks as she glances over at Cherish, who's taking the food out and setting it on the table.
He sighs, not knowinf how to explain it and not sure how Carter would react. "I um... Allison told me she's pregnant," Carter's breathe hitches and Luke notices. "And I don't understand how because we haven't had sex in four months."
"Well... congrats," she mumbles as she grabs some plates. Luke helps Cherish set the food out and everything. "I... I don't know what advice to give you other then to be there for her and to help her through the pregnancy... that's what I would've wished for."
Luke looks over at his daughter. "Yeah I would have wished so too. I must've missed out on six great years," Cherish looks over at Luke and Carter looks at them. Their daughter smiles at her father and she hands Luke his food and he thanks her, kissing her forehead.
Luke did miss out on a lot in the past six years. Cherish's first kick, word, steps, almost first everything that they have in their first year. Luke hopes that he'll be there for the rest of Cherish's first, but not all of them.
"Mum we got you some... chicken nuggets," Cherish tells her.
"We got mum Alfredo Pasta and mashed potatoes remember princess," she giggles, nodding her head. Luke grabs the container and hands it over to Carter.
"Thank you Luke," he nods his head and picks Cherish up, putting her on the marble island. She takes her chicken nuggets out and begins to eat them.
"You didn't get yourself anything?" Carter asks as she grabs some drinks and an apple juice for Cherish.
Luke shakes. "I lost my appetite after what Allison told me,"
"That bad?"
"Like... she had this smirk when she told me. She won't allow me to turn that spare room into Cherish's room for when she stays over,"
Carter hands Luke a Dr. Pepper. "Why did you stay with Allison?" She asks as she opens the can.
Luke shrugs his shoulders. There's a lot reasons why, but none of them seemed like a legit reason why. "Honestly... I had no one left," he says, looking over at Cherish. "You had left and... I just felt alone. I thought I had done something wrong. I kept telling myself that it was my fault you left and I still believe that up to this day."
Carter looks at Luke, bitting her lip. "Mummy," she looks up at her daughter. She hums, letting her know to go on. "I want... Can we go to Disneyland?"
"I don't know sweetie. You know I'm going to be busy for the next six months,"
"Where you going?"
"I have a gig with Halsey, so I'm the official tour photographer,"
"And how does Cherish stay with while you're gone for so long?"
"She use to come with me, but when she started school, she stayed with Harry or sometimes even Danielle,"
Luke nods his head and looks over at Cherish. "Maybe when your mom gets back you can go," she nods her head smiling.
"Wait isn't Halsey signed to your record label?" He hums, nodding his head. She smiles, eating her pasta.
"Daddy can we go to Disneyland?" Luke looks over at his daughter.
"Wouldn't you rather go with your mum?"
Cherish shrugs her shoulders. "I really just want to to and I don't care with who,"
Luke nods his head, smiling.a/n: honestly sorry it took me soooo long.
