It's their first day of their Sophomore year. Harry is the best football player in the town. Harry has a girlfriend named Kayla. She’s the head cheerleader. Kayla and Harry are almost always together.
Ed has gotten into post hardcore bands. Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Black Veil Brides, Mayday Parade, Breathe Carolina, those bands. He’s dating Thalia Thirlwall. She’s into those bands too, and she plays the guitar.
Marcel is the smartest person in his grade. He wears cheesy t-shirts, sometimes with vests, jeans, and his glasses. He has maybe seven people that don’t bully him. Why someone would bully another person for being smart and wearing glasses, the world may never know. He also has a girlfriend, named Zoë.

-Marcel’s Point Of View-
“Come on Marcel!” Zoë shouted. Gosh she’s pushy. “We have to find the others!” It’s the first day of school and she’s worried about getting the same spot we had last year for the gatherings- the upper right hand corner of the bleachers. Me, Zoë, Ed, Thalia, and Kayla always sat in the corner. Harry always sat with his jock friends- he’s too embarrassed to be seen near me and Zoë, because apparently we’re weird. He’s embarrassed to be near Ed and Thalia, because they have piercings and coloured hair. I’ve tried to be nice to Harry, but he just shoves me off. He doesn’t really like anyone but Kayla. Kayla’s a prep, but she’s probably the only nice one there is. I wouldn’t know; I only have a few friends. I’ve been praying for about a month now that the bullies won’t be as bad this year, but I don’t know.
“Hey. Sup?” Zoë nodded towards the other three, who were already at our corner.
“Waiting for you guys.”
“MARCEL!” Thalia gave me a big hug.
“Hi Thalia.” I smiled.
“Hey don’t forget about me! I want a hug!” Kayla joined in.
“Hey. Nice hair.” Zoë complemented Ed. He had put a streak of blue hair a week before school started. It was funny, because he forgot to put gloves on both of his hands. His left hand looked like a smurf peed on it.
“Right back at ya.”
Zoë had completely dyed her hair a different colour- light purple. It looks fabulous.
“Attention. Attention children.” Our principal spoke into the microphone. “We’re going to get started, so I’d appreciate it if you could please be quiet. We have a guest speaker today. Edward Sheeran. Some of you may know of him. Please, no squealing. My teenaged daughter does enough of that.”
“Hello.” Edward spoke into the microphone.
“Hey. He has the same name as me.” Ed whispered.
“We noticed.” Kayla said. “Now shh I want to hear his perfect voice.”
“Now, I’m assuming that there’s some of you who don’t really like school.”
“Ha! Nope!” Zoë spoke up.
“Yes! You, up in the corner.” Edward pointed at us. “I like your hair. When I was in school, I sat in the back, drawing in my notebook and writing lyrics, not really taking anything in. There were some real jerks in my grade. Absolutely disrespectful to every one of the teachers. You don’t have to like them. You don’t have to hate them. But you will respect them. They are putting over eight hours a day for you guys to learn. No one says you have to pay attention. If you aren’t going to become a musician, or an actor, then my advice for you is to pay attention. I mean, even if you are gonna become a musician or an actor, you might wanna pay some attention. You never know if that teacher is going to say something wise or not. But hey, I’m not your mom, I can’t tell you what to do.
