Maya's POV

"Yes you may stay, but under two conditions. You first must attend the academy everyday and become a ninja, and second you must come here after school tomorrow and fill me in on some things about you."

He finished and called to an anbu, "take Maya here to this address. This will tell you where you will be staying. I will have someone pick you up in the morning for school, so get a good sleep." I nodded and left with the anbu as we walked towards my new home.

-Time Skip-

When we got there he handed me the key and left. I unlocked the apartments door and went in.

I walked throughout the small apartment, memorizing where everything was.

'At least it is better than the base. I was starting to get annoyed with how familiar the faces were and how I had call their base home. I was raised in the Akatsuki base and I never once stepped foot outside of the bases front entrance. Pein had told me that I was born in the base and I have never seen the outdoors other than behind that invisible glass.'

I went to the room and healed all of my wounds that lined my body. The wounds that didn't go away were the ones from when they made me immortal and from before that, when I was still a human.

I frowned at how much I stunk and went to the bathroom. I looked at my hideous eyes, they were multi-colored and it bothered the heck out of me.

I decide to look away from my reflection in the mirror, so I undressed and walked into the cold water of my shower.

I always loved to take cold showers because it would make my body feel numb and that always calmed down my emotions.

I finished quickly and got out. I dried off and put my warm clothes on which included a pair of baggy sweatpants and a T-shirt that I stole from Itachi onee-san's room.

I used a wind jutsu to dry my floor length white hair. I finished and got into bed doing my normal routine.

You see, I was what you could call 'an insomniac' meaning I suffered from memories of the past and every time I tried to sleep, I would end up screaming and/or crying for the rest of the night.

Every night I would just sing and sing a lullaby that I faintly remember from long ago.

The woman that sings it in my memories has a soft and loving voice full of emotions, while mine is emotionless or maybe if you looked close enough a little bit of sadness came from it.

So I sang all night long and the sun starts to rise. I get up and put on my black kimono that has the perfect light weight, fighting outfit under it.

I place my scythe on my back and my twin swords on my hip. As required, I put a small pouch full of ninja weapons such as shuriken and kunai on my right thigh. Lastly I put my black combat boots on and walk out the door.

When I step out, an anbu is standing there, waiting to take me to the academy. We start to walk in complete and utter silence until we reach the academy.

"Don't forget to go to the Hokage after school" I nodded and he disappeared, leaving me to go to class.

I walked in and walked up to the lady at the front desk, I stood and we talked for a few minutes before she told me where my new class was and I left, walking towards the class.

I walked up to the door and knocked, I walked in and closed the door behind me. I walked up to the front of the classroom to the teacher and poked his shoulder, getting his attention.

He turned around and smiled remembering that he was getting a new student today.

Iruka's POV

I was getting my lesson ready when I felt someone slightly tap my shoulder. I turned around and came face to face with a little girl, why was she here?

I suddenly remembered that I was getting a new student today, this must be her then.

"Everyone get to your seats, class is now starting. Before we start today's lesson though, we have a new student." I turned to the girl and said, "please introduce yourself to the class."

She nodded like she understood and walked forward a little bit. "My name is Maya Sunni, pleased to meet you, ro" was all she said. "Where will I be sitting, ro?" I pointed to Shikamaru and Sasuke saying that she could sit anywhere she would like.

She walked up to the top row and sat in the window seat be Shikamaru. I was surprised by how she knew what I was saying when she had those headphones in her ears but I dismissed that and went on with the lesson.

Maya's POV

I sit by that Shikamaru boy and watch Iruka's mouth move, matching words to the movements of his lips.

He said, "today we will practice our fighting skills in one-on-one combat. Now partner up and let's go outside to the training field."

Everyone partnered up and left the room with me and a boy both being the last ones in the room.

"Want to be my partner, ro?" I asked the boy and he looked up at me and smiled a goofy grin. "Sure! Lets go!"

He grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the school and to the training field behind the academy.

When we got there I said, "my name is Maya Sunni, ro." He then said, "my name is Naruto Uzumaki! Believe it!"

When Iruka got here he explained the rules and dismissed us to start our combat training. Naruto and us walked to a big empty area and he said "I will go easy on you since your just a little girl but I will still win."

I looked at him and said, "did you say something? I couldn't understand what you said, ro." He then got angry at that comment and charged at me starting the fight.

I wasn't paying attention to what he was doing and he pulled out my headphones, I then started to breath heavily and I got dizzy. I fell onto the ground and I started to take bigger breaths of air, trying to get air into my lungs.

Iruka noticed this and ran over, starting to ask Naruto what happened. He told Iruka that he started the fight and pulled out my headphones then how I had started to breath heavily and it ended up like this.

He got an idea and took the headphones, setting them in his ears. He could here the heartbeat through the music and it gave him the chills.

He looked down at me while I went to grab at my chest, he quickly pulled my hands away from my chest and put his ears on it. The pressure from his head pushing down on my chest made it burn even more than it already was.

He closed his eyes and tried to listen for a heartbeat but he quickly opened his eyes when he found that there was no heartbeat.

The whole class had crowded around back when they saw Iruka rush to my body after I had just fallen down. They were slightly scared to find me on the ground trying to find air to fill my lungs.

Iruka found the solution and put my headphones back in my ears which made my breathing go back to normal.

He picked me up and carried me to under a tree, letting me rest for a bit.

After 5 minutes, I was completely better so I walked back to the field, where Iruka stood. I walked up to him and said, "I'm fine now Iruka, I can fight now, ro."

Before he could even reply I was by Naruto, warning him not to pull off my headphones this time. We started to fight but it was over in about half a minute.

The reason was that he was too weak.
