Chapter 17-We're In

*Kali*

Ugh, I'm so embarrassed. I know he knows I lied. At least I think he isn't sure. I just hope he doesn't question further. Then I'd be in real trouble.

Alex and I are nearly to the wall when I hear a whistling noise. I yell "ALEX GET DOWN!" and drop to the floor.

*Alex*

I don't hear Kali yell to me. I am to busy listening to crying. Its coming from above me. I also don't see the rock flying at my head. It hits me and I crumple to the ground. My body feels numb, I hear a distant sound of crying. It feels like hands are shaking me. I blackout.

*C4*

I hold Christy's hand as we slowly approach the building. We are close to the wall and I quickly stop her. I point at the pressure plate placed on the ground. I tell her "Trap. it is a trigger, step over."

We get over the trap and are against the wall. I hear a faint whistle followed by a thud. I think shit! I motion for her to follow me and stay close to the wall and I rush along the wall to the corner. I hope everything is ok.

*Gordon*

We get to the door after avoiding the traps. I press my thumb to the scanner and look around. It blinks green and Tom and I walk in. I send a mind message out. "We're in"

I immediately receive one saying "good, get in your position and be prepared to start at any moment. We have to use plan B. They have gotten too close". I smile and we walk along the corridor to get into position.

*Kali*

"ALEX!" I jump up and rush to his side. I see the rock left a giant dent in his head but it is healing slowly. At least he is alive I think. I shake him to get him to wake up. He is still out.

C4 rushes over and asks what happened. I tell him about the rock flying and taking him out. He curses under his breath. "I saw a trigger. I should have warned everyone."

"It's not your fault" I say. 'He was distracted." I think to myself 'I hope he is ok'. He will be ok.

*Alex*

I come to with a gasp. I see everyone but Gordon and Tom standing over me. I sit up and assure everyone I am ok. I can only think of how long I was out, how much time he had to

move Nicole.

"Alright, let's move. We need to get inside." I say. C4 smiles deviously. "C4, my answer is no. No 4 pounds of C4." He frowns. "We are going to need a whole lot more." He smiles even wider and pulls out 20 pounds out of no where.

BOOM. The wall crumbles to dust from the force. "Now we're in."
