Chapter 2

    Khaden watched as the elder Dixon brother stood, "Merle..." Daryl mumbled, "Knock it off. You know better than to hit a woman." Daryl added quickly. Merle glared at Khaden and walked away. Dale sighed, "We're getting low on supplies... Someone should go and get some from that mall.. It's not far in the city and you could get out rather quick. Any volunteers?" Khaden looked up and nodded, "Yeah, I'll go." Glenn nods, "I know the city best. I'll go too. Khaden you should be in your form since you have the best sense of smell. Khaden nods as she heard Morales, Jacqui, Merle and Andrea volunteer to go as well. Khaden ran a hand through her hair and sighed as she waited for the others to say goodbye to their families.
That was hours ago. Khaden's golden eyes looked around, keeping an eye on the walkers. She and Merle were on top of the building. Khaden thought the view was gorgeous. That is, minus seeing dead people everywhere, everything else she thought was pretty. Khaden's ears perked as she heard gun shots, she leaned over and saw a guy dressed in a cops uniform running and shooting at the walkers. She growled and looked at Merle as he started shooting at the walkers as well. Khaden got down and ran at him, she jumped up on him, causing the weapon to fall out of his hands. Merle glared at her, he raised his hand and popped her in the face. Khaden yelped and got off of him, she looked at the gun and ran toward it, grabbing it by the strap and she took off running. "Get back here you little bitch!" Merle shouts and ran after her. He caught up to her, kicking her in the side. Khaden winced and looked up at him as he grabbed the gun, aiming it at her. Thank god T-dog came up with the others. "What the hell are you doin' man! You're wasting bullets we don't even have!" Merle glared at Khaden once more before adverting his attention to the others. "What did you do to Khaden?" Glenn hissed and held her in his arms. Khaden had shift, holding her face. "She took ma gun," Merle says simply. "So you had to hit her for that dumb reason?" Andrea, Jacqui and Glenn yell. "I'm fine, guys." Khaden says. "He hits like a bitch anyway. Sophia can hit harder than his bitch ass." She growled and looked at Merle, watching as his eyes flashed with anger once more, he took a step toward her, T-Dog quickly stood in front of him. "Stop, put the gun down and sit your ass down." Merle chuckled, "I don't gotta take no orders from a -" T-Dog cut him off, "From a what?" He growled, glaring at him. "From a nigger." Merle says simply. T-Dog glared and swung at him, Merle blocked him and hit him in the face with the butt of his shotgun. T-Dog fell, Merle climbed onto him and started to hit him in the face over and over again. The girls yelled at him to stop. The new guy grabbed Merle's shoulder in an attempt to stop him, only to get elbowed in the nose. Merle finally stopped and glared down at T-Dog. He spat on his shirt and rubbed it in, he stood and looked at the others. "Well! I think we should have a vote, I vote me being the boss!" He says, Jacqui and a couple others rose their hands. "Andy objections?" The guy who got elbowed in the face walks over, cuffs his hand, "Yeah," Merle turned around, getting hit in the face. The guy grabbed his wrist and placed the cuff on it, tightening it, he placed the other cuff around a pull and shut it, "Who the hell are you man!?" Merle groaned. "Officer Friendly," He says sarcastically, as he patted him down. He pulled a baggy with drugs in it, "You got a little on your nose." He says and flicked the tip of merle's nose, "Hey man, that's my stuff!" Merle shouted. Glenn looked at Khaden and rubbed her back. "The new guy's name is Rick." He says. Khaden nods, her eye would definitely be swollen by the night and she knew that already. Khaden sighed and laying her head on Glenn's shoulder, she thought of him as an older brother than she never had

Khaden sat beside Dale and Glenn that night around the fire, poking at her food with her fork. She couldn't eat, she felt horrible for leaving Merle up on the roof. Sure, he may have hit her but she knows what it's like not being with her family. "You okay?" Dale asked her, nudging her gently with his arm. Khaden nodded slowly, "I just... I feel bad." Shane looked up, "You feel bad for the asshole who hit you?" Khaden turned her attention to Shane, narrowing her eyes at him, "Yes, I know what it feels like to be away from family. I left him there while his brother is here, providing us with food. He may be an asshole bu he doesn't deserve to be without his family, for that reason I'm going back to find him." Khaden says, handing her plate off to her mother and sister. Glenn shook his head, "Khaden, you can't, you could get hurt." She looked at him and bit her lip, "I can't just sit here and do nothing." She says and shift into her wolf form and ran off.
