"The Jack surprises Glensworth with disappearing act!"

The newspapers are all covering the "act" from our concert. Everyone's whispering about how we did the affects. Until Monday came, and she wasn't in school. "Reed, Sarah?" Ms.Klein, our world studies teacher, takes attendance.

No answer.

No one really paid much attention to Sarah, until Saturday. Soon, the rumours changed from the concert "affects", to where Sarah was. The press quickly stopped printing their coverage on the concert and began printing out missing child flyers. The whole town is concerned, but the witnesses can't say what they saw, anyone sane wouldn't believe us. Or anyone smart. Her family's been hiding in their house, no doubt sick of the media asking them questions and people giving them their blessings. A girl who's been seen disappear,  yet at the same time, vanish without a trace.

The day passes by agonizingly slow, no one's able to shut up about Sarah, not even Jinx or Ace. Somehow, I feel like it's my fault that she's disappeared into nowhere. Finally, my last period comes.

Maths. Mrs.Hosks.

I'm not ready to hear her complain about Friday. Not today, not tomorrow. Ever. I'm tired of her having a stuck up attitude and expecting her students to be nice to her. Completely ridiculous. I go to the back of the room to my seat near the window and plop my book bag on the floor without a word to her. She eyes me from her desk in the front. "Ah, Ms.Jadestone.", Mrs.Hosks smirks. What I wouldn't give to slap that smile off her face.

"That was quite the performance last Friday night", she adjusts her glasses.

"That was the plan". I crack open a book, not looking up.

Mrs.Hosks taps her overly long and painted nails on her desk. "Left school early because  you were sick, but managed to pull off that concert? I've underestimated you, Ms.Jadestone",

"I am a fighter after all.", I flip a page from my book. By now, the entire class is silent, clearly listening in. The only sound is a student's pencil as they take the opportunity to finish their homework before Mrs.Hosks starts the class.

"And how you pulled off that disappearing stunt! How ever did Ms.Reed--" I cut her off and stand up from my seat, the chair falling on the ground behind me. She's really testing me this day. Now for sure every eye is pinned on me.

I hastily walk towards Mrs.Hosks desk, my blood boiling. On my way there, an upperclassmen stands up in front of me, at least a foot taller than me. I swerve my foot on his ankle, making him fall to the floor. I don't care what his intentions were. He's in my way. I don't look back to see if he's okay, but I hear a couple of students stand up and rush over to help him. Finally, I reach her desk in the front of the room.

I grab her face by the cheeks and I bring her closer to my face. Her eyes wide. I look her dead in the eye without a blink.

"A girl is gone. GONE! Do you know what means, Isabel? It means we don't know if she's fucking dead or alive. It means her family, or anyone may never see her again. It means that you won't give anyone the time of day to think about anyone but yourself. IT! MEANS! SHE'S! GONE!" I yell for what seems to be a long five minutes. I don't have time to hear what she has to say because I'm already on my bike on my way home.

When I reach my house door, I struggle to find my keys in my book bag, jingling them to find the key that fit's in the door, I drop them. I bend down to pick them up from the door mat, when I see a small lavender plant on my right by the walkway to my house. That can only mean one thing.

I burst through the door. Inside, is my mother and a little girl on the couch watching Micky Mouse Clubhouse. My mum turns her head towards the door, "Oh, Vale you're home ear--" I cut her off.

I immediately rush towards my sister, hugging her tightly. "You're back!"
