There was a thirty-minute break for Nadine and she found herself walking inside the tent. It was quiet. Her eyes landed on one of the checkered folding chair where James was in deep slumber.

He must have been tired, she thought. The party the previous night might have caused him the exhaustion.

She continued walking and sat on her own chair, just beside James. She smiled involuntarily as she laid eyes on James' face and watched as his chest went up and down.

She  angled her sight on the floor and returned it to the person in front of her.

She knew she fell. She knew and she turned a blind eye. She convinced herself that it has to go away.

But she cared for him in the sincerest way possible. Why? She didn't know.

But he paraded girls before her eyes. It hurt but she endured it, convinced herself that it was nothing but a phase she'll get over with. She talked herself into thinking it was because of the way he looked, the way he sang, and the way his body moved with the beat. It was nothing.

But these girls only want him because of his name, of his fame, of the things his money can buy.

She, on the other hand, craved for his touch, his smile, his face as he tries to turn her moods around. She likes his soul, of how fearless it is and she was sometimes envious of it.

She fell and she knew how dangerous it was but there was nothing else she could have done. Nothing stopped her.

She just looked at him and convinced herself to care for the boy in front of her –-- no matter what.

No matter how badly it would hurt.

She brushed his hair using her fingers.

"There now, steady love. I will look after you."
