Summary: Farkle finds out a new discovery in his experiment on life, he's in love with Riley Matthews.
•••
For as long as anyone can remember, Riley and Farkle had always been best friends. Riley was the sun, she would light up Farkle's day in an instance. Riley had always seen Farkle, as who he truly was. Farkle. Their friends had noticed how close they would always be, the exchanged looks with one another. No can deny that these two loved each other.

Farkle had always said he would always love Maya and Riley equally, he even made it a promise. But soon that promise was soon broken. Farkle woke up one day realizing that he had feelings for Riley Matthews. He didn't want these feelings, he didn't want things to change. He hated change, he wasn't the first one to get used to it.

Ever since that morning he has been ignoring Riley ever since. He was dating Smackle at that time, it made sense after all. They were alike, a perfect match. But the world has a way of teaching lessons on its own. Riley herself was confused as ever. It had been three weeks and she was growing more distance from Farkle. She didn't want this.

She cared about Farkle, she loved him. She missed the boy that said Pluto would always be a planet in his room. She missed the boy that said that they would always be on the same team. She missed the boy that said he would always be right there for her. She missed him dearly.

Riley stabbed her fork on her food, practically murdering it. She watched as Farkle again avoided her, sitting at the other table. She sighed to herself sadly, continuing to murder her salad. "Oh gosh your cute." Maya commented, looking at Riley kill her salad. Riley didn't answer, she kept looking at Farkle. She was hoping he would at least glance at her. But nope, he wouldn't budge.

"Trouble in paradise?" Maya finally took the fork out of Riley's hand, setting it down next to her. "Easy for you to say, your not the one  who has a best friend ignoring you for three weeks straight!" Riley grumbled slouching in her chair.

"Let me guess, Farkle Minkus?" Riley didn't say anything, she didn't want to talk about him anymore. "Honey, you have to try to talk to him." Maya put a comforting hand on Riley's shoulder. She sighed in response.

"I'm afraid of hearing the truth."

Riley looked up at the tall building in front of her. Inside that building lived Farkle Minkus. Riley took a deep breath and began walking towards the doors. Her hands were shaking when she stepped onto the elevator. When she knocked on his door she found herself taking deep breaths. One after the other.

She was hoping at least his dad would open the door but nope. It had to be Farkle. Riley sucked in a deep breath, "Hi." There was silence between them. Too much silence. They weren't saying any words but their eyes told each other something. Riley stared down Farkle long enough that he said something, "Come in."

Once he closed the door Riley let out the sentence she was dying to say, "Why have you been ignoring me?" Farkle walked up to Riley getting closer.

"I have a lot on my mind." That wasn't particularly a lie. But Farkle still felt guilt seep into him. He watched as Riley's face turned from soft to angry. "So for three weeks you just had a lot on your mind!?"

The tension was growing stronger between the two. Riley turned intimidating by the minute. "You are supposed to be my best friend Farkle! I thought we would always be on the same team! Have you decided to leave the team!?"

Riley stepped closer to him, Farkle finally looked at her. "If I told you the reason why I've been ignoring you everything would change." Riley crossed her arms, growing more and more frustrated.

"Well, I can't help but feel hurt when my best friend is ignoring me!"

"I can't help it that I'm in love with you!"

Silence.

The silence hurt more than the words that were said to each other. She hates me now, was the only thought going through Farkle's head. He was sure he messed things up. "Farkle..." But he looked up at the girl he's been in love with since the first grade. He looked at the girl who's shined brighter than the sun. He looked at the girl who had said Pluto was the smallest planet with the biggest heart. Riley Matthews was the girl he was in love with.

And Riley was unpredictable. "I'm sorry." Riley didn't say anything but give a sight tug on the collar of his shirt, placing her lips on his. At this moment Farkle made a new discovery. She loved him.
