"If this is a fucking Halloween prank, I'll kill him". Alan Lloyd, 36, shook his head. He stared at the window. He smoked a cigarette.

"I'll call the Sheriff", Edna Mae Lloyd, his wife, 32, told him.

And then he screamed, as the body of Bob Simms was hung on his front door by The Shape. Written in large, bold letters were the words:

"HAPPY HALLOWEEN, 1978"

Tommy wrapped himself around the curtain.

"Tommy!".

Lindsey was scared.

"I'm the Boogey man!".

"That's not funny".

Tommy laughed.

And then he saw The Shape carrying the body of Annie.

"There he is; there he is! The Boogey man!". He and Lindsey began to cry. Tears fell down their small faces.

"What's wrong?".

"I saw him again! He's over at Lindsey's house! The Boogey man".

"Tommy, stop it! You're scaring Lindsey".

"I saw...".

"I said 'Stop it!'. There's no Boogey man; there's nothing out there. If you don't stop all of this...I'm going to turn off the TV, and you can go to bed".

Tommy was about to say more, but he kept his mouth shut.

"Nobody believes me!".

"I believe you, Tommy".

And he smiled at her.

Lonnie watched the Strode house.

"Lonnie!". He looked around, but he didn't see anyone. And Doctor Loomis smiled, as he indulged in his love of scaring kids on Halloween. Lonnie scrambled away from the house, and ran home as fast as possible.

"Damn!", Sheriff Brackett yelled, "...Cut the body down!".

"Who is it, Sheriff?".

"Bob Simms, Lynda's boyfriend".

"Fuck! Someone got him good".

"Yeah, let's get the Coroner here...and fingerprint the door". He smoked a cigarette. Then he would find Doctor Loomis, and give the bastard a piece of his mind.

"Boy, what the hell were you?".

"We heard the Boogey man, Dad".

"There's no such thing". And he grabbed a belt strap in his right hand...And beat his son across the face with it.
