"Holly."
I was jolted awake by a tapping on my bedroom door. Followed by two more raps. When I didn't answer, I heard light footsteps nearing my bed.
"Holly, darling? Wake up."

I felt the gentlest of tugs from the sheet covering my face and the smell of jasmine filling my senses.
She must've leaned in closer, "Sweetheart, you can't sleep in now, it's your first day of school." she whispered. I shifted a little but was nonetheless determined to ignore her.
"If you don't wake up I'll-" Janis was silent for a few seconds apparently thinking long and hard for something to take away from me. I giggled at her attempts to threaten me. Unfortunately, she heard it. "Oh, so you are awake!" she said, finally pulling the blanket off of me and exposing my face to the harsh rays of the sun from the open window.
"5 more minutes please?" I begged, still refusing to open my eyes. I expected to hear her protests but was met instead with silence. "Thank goodness," I thought.

A few seconds later, I heard someone tiptoe-ing towards me.

Clyde.

Bet you anything he's gonna try and scare me awake. I smiled to myself.
Clyde let out a loud guffaw and-
SPLASH
I was soaked wet with ice-cold water.
With ice-cubes. Lots and lots of ice cubes.
"OH MY GOOOOOOOOOSH!", I cried out as I
sat up to curse the offender just in time to see Clyde's hateful face peering at me by the door,
"ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!!!" He managed to holler before running off down stairs.
"THAT SON OF A- CLYDE!!!! YOU DIRTY LITTLE-
I AM GOING TO BURN YOU AND FEED YOU TO HUNGRY SHARKS COME HERE YOU!!" I screamed after him.
Too lazy and cold to stand up, I raised my fist to curse him a few more times before groaning and dragging my wet-cold self in the shower.

IT WAS RAINING THAT day.
It was the kind of rain that pitter pattered on the window pane and made you want to just laze away at home in your sweat pants drinking a warm cup of milk instead of coming to this horrid school,
Adeline High.

Three years in and I'm still never going to get used to its crappy system.

I was late and regretted not taking the bus instead. Having to bring a car and working my ass off part time at this bookstore to have to pay for gas is a huge hassle.
Looking for a parking space is the worst part.

Luckily today, the heavens took pitty on me and reserved one perfect parking spot. But jus as I adjested my car, a black Volvo drifted ahead and took my spot.

Great. Just great.

"Hey! That's my spot!", I yell at the douche who got out of the stupid black Volvo.
"Sheldon Cooper?" he said, laughing to himself and turning his back to leave.

"Jerk!" I holler at him.
I"ll get you.

"Goodmorning everyone, its the first day of school and I want you all to enjoy this day, and I request everyone to take out their pens and paper and write an essay about what happened during break." Miss Joyce said and walked out of the room.
everyone complained about what she wanted us to do.
"This is bullshit man, its first day and I get to write? I dont even remember how to anymore." the guy sitting behind me said.
"Gosh, my handwriting sucks."
"what the hell? My brain isnt working." complaints from the student filled the room while I on the other hand was staring at the window fixing my concentration on the Philippine flag being blewn by the wind When suddenly everyone kept quiet. I smirked expecting everyone to get scolded, Mrs. Joyce hates it when we get noisy. I braced myself and prepared for somoene to shout but was greeted with silence, I looked up and ....
"he's so cute." i heard somoene whispered.
"I'm going to make him my boyfriend." another girl said.
"Everyone, this is Arc Tristan Wise, he's a new student and I want you to make him feel welcome."
"Welcome Arc." We all said in unison.
"What are we, kindergarten?" Anna wisphered to me. I giggled.
"Seems like someone wants to sit in the last row, hmm Miss Gonzales?" Mrs. Joyce who had heard me was instead looking at Anna pointedly.
"I'm sorry maam."Anna said as she straightened herself.
I smiled at him and I saw him catch his breath, and I was disappointed when he frowned at me.
what is his problem?
wait, this guy, he's the guy that stole my spot!

After class, Anna invited me to watch her practice in cheerleading so I was on my way to the stadium when someone bumped into me and I fell on my butt.
he just looked at me and went ahead.
People stared at me and thank god someone helped me stood up but couldn't even make a straight face because they obviously wanted to laugh.
Embarassing!

*soccer field*

The guy was standing only a feet away from me.

I couldn't see his face since he had his back to me ,
But i do recognize him from the back Alex Sleive, he's popular, a tall guy that would pass the test of the all-american good looks. He had shaggy blond hair, and soft peircing blue eyes to the muscular tan body. when he turned to face my direction. I'm snapped out of my revere by a sharp pain in my right abdomen.

"OW!" it turns out that Anna was responsible for it. "WHY ARE YOU SUDDENLY STARING AT Alex Slieve?! Are you suddenly interested in him? You've been dumping his sorry ass since last year!"
Her eyes were narrowed to slits, accusation clear in every word she uttered.
I smirked.
"Am not."
"Are too."
"Nope"

"You're gross."
I rolled my eyes at her and drew my attention back to Alex.

He glanced at me and I smiled.
I went closer to where he was standing but a Group of guys approached him and invited him to play with them. But he refused the offer and instead walked towards my direction.

My eyes traced his tall muscular figure, the closer he came, the more nervous I got.

"Hey." He said.
Edgy, I looked at him puzzled.
"Hey." Anna replied beaming.
"You look stunning." He said smiling.
"Uh, th-thanks." I stuttered, and before I could realize what was happening he chuckled and folded his arms.
"Holly, I was wondering if you could come tomorrow night at my house." He said and scratched the back of his head while waiting for a response.
Oh please, you can ask me out right here and right now I dont have to go your house. I will say yes even before you finish your question.
"Why?" I tried my best to look as calm as I could possibly be.
Oh, god my hands are shaking.
He stared deep into my eyes.
"Party, and oh, bring your friend." He said.
I was dissapointed. I thought he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend. Oh wait.. maybe he was going to ask me at the party in front of everyone.

"Give me a good reason why I should go to your party?" I said.
"Uuh, because everyone's coming?" Anna answered for him as she gave me a look that said 'calm down' you're embarassing yourself'
I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Naah still not convinced" I said with one hand on my waist.
"Okay then. Maybe next time." He winked.
"Bye ladies." Then he turned and left. Just like that.

Well that was odd. Alex usually pushed on and on until I say yes. Like what he's been doing for the last 2 years of apparently courting me. Maybe he was already over me.

Anna gave me a horrified look.
"Fine." I sighed in resignition. She didn't even have to say anything to get me to give in.

Alex had made his way to the other side of the court and shit, I had to chase after him so that he could hear me.

"Alex? HEY!" I called after him.
He didn't hear me. Man, this is so embarassing. People are looking. I am so going to kill Anna for this.

I ran to catch up to him and felt a sharp pain from my right ear. And everything went black.
