So we're moving again. The First time we moved was after mom died, my dad and I moved to Jamaica from England. We decided that we needed a fresh new start and Jamaica was the perfect place. In fact, the vibrant culture helped me a lot in the healing process.Of course I still miss my mom, I have no one to talk to about feminine stuff. I thank God everyday that he has graced me with a beautiful face and body because when it comes to fashion-I am clueless.
My dad is pretty awesome but he can be so strict at times; I understand because I know he does'nt want to lose me like he lost mom. She died in a car crash on her way home from work, a trailer ran straight into her car; she died on the spot. It hurts everytime I wake up knowing that I will never see my mom again. She died when I was five, I am now sixteen and the pain is still fresh.
"Daaadd! " I yelled, "Do we really have to move? Can't you just tell your boss to let you stay here?"
"Honey, you know I can't, trust me, you will be fine. Are you done packing?"
"I have'nt even started. Pfftt."
"What! Aria Emmie Taylor, go upstairs and pack your bags this minute! We are moving and that's final!"
I ran to my room and slam the door. He has no right to be mad at me, I just don't want to move because of his stupid job. My dad is a finaniciaI advisor and he is very good at it so the company he works for decided to promote him.
I am proud of my dad but I just wish that we didn't have to leave. I turn on my ipod, put on my headphones and blasted the music. It took my favourite playlist to calm me down and I began to think logically. If it wasn't for Dad's job he would'nt have been able to buy me what I wanted and needed so I should be grateful...but I just don't want to go!
I swore to myself as I started packing my suitcase.
I didn't have a choice.
