The Quiet

Here is a super short one-shot, only about 200 words. Just to get me back into the flow of writing. I hope you like!

A room lit only by the dull light of a computer screen.

A boy laid out on an unmade bed, a sweater two sizes two big covering his small frame.

Silence filling the unnaturally calm room.

Eyes staring at eyes through a screen.

Silent breaths begging for someone to say something. Anything.

~~~
"How could you do this to me?! I thought I could trust you!" One voice screamed, one voice stayed silent.
"You don't get to act like this doesn't effect everything!" One voice cried, one voice ignored.
"I used to be the one you came to! When it all went to shit!" One voice begging now, one voice not caring.
"I don't want to walk away... But you've left me no choice now." One voice defeated, one voice muffling a yawn.
~~~

Staring in silence. The quiet deafening. What was the point of these one sided conversations? Was it to start a fight, just to break the silence? Was it in hope that the other voice would care? Who knew what the point was?

Black and blue bruises.

Spitting blood like paint splatters.

Broken bones like broken shells.

Fighting just to fight.

Anything.

Anything hurts less than The Quiet.
