When the movie was over we found that neither of us had actually paid attention to the giant silver screen, not once. He Alex was smiling at me with so much warmth, so much affection, it hurt to know that I could never really, truly, be with him. My morals are too strong, even though Michael didn't deserve to keep me from happiness, I knew that, I wasn't naive, I couldn't bare to cheat on him, because, well, I had loved him at a time but that day at his house when I tried to break up with me had helped me to learn to get over people and to see people as not only their best moments.
He must've seen the sad little smile I'd given him because the smile slowly disappeared, " What's wrong Kylee?"
The tears of the memory stung my eyes and my voice began to shake,"I'm not even single..." I felt as if I was letting him down.
He set his hand on mine and I was suddenly terrified that he might errupt like Michael had. "Why are you going out with others then?" he tried to appear calm but you could see the mixed emotions bubbling through the mask.
"I tried to break up with my boyfriend before leaving my old school, he told me he'd never let me leave him. Not because he cares either, because of his ego..." I couldn't keep the edge of tears stay out of my voice and I began to cry.
He put his hand on my cheek and lifted my face up towards his gently, "You don't have to be with him" he actually understood, "we are going to this guys house and you're gonna finish what you started, but I'm gonna be there, i'll help you, because, well I wanna make you mine" lowering his lips to mine he kissed me softly, to comfort me, he broke off the kiss and looked me in the eyes as he wiped the tears from beneath my eyes. " I hope you know that I'll never let him hurt you, never, he'd have to kill me first" I smiled at him. I didn't know why he was going through all this trouble for a girl whom he barely knew, his willing attitude made him everything I'd ever wanted.
