I needed to find out why everyone was giving me those looks. After breakfast with Jenna, I asked about the kids and oddly enough they would both be with friend's for the day. Tyler and Zoe weren't answering my texts and I hadn't heard from anyone but Troye.

Feeling both alone and out of sorts, I decided to call him and see if he knew what was happening with our friends and why it seemed that both our families were ignoring the pestering for answers. (bold is Troye, italics is Connor)

So you haven't heard anything from anyone?

No, not even from Mikey.

Woah you're getting along with him??

Shut up it's a work in progress.

I couldn't help but giggle and he chuckled along with me.

Well there's gotta be something going on.

I began to have that thought, let's see, awhile ago.

Any ideas?

I don't know, maybe they're planning something?

Smart thinking.

Hey, I'm trying here.

It's sooo obvious, I never would've thought they would've been planning something!

Rolling my eyes, I looked around my room. Just the thought of calling it my room and not feeling uncomfortable was a new thing within itself.

I tried to think of what everyone was planning. It had to be some sort of surprise as I didn't believe Troye and I both being the only ones experiencing silence from our families was merely a coincidence. It had to be some sort of event or maybe a gift. Noo, there had to be a more logical explanation. I didn't want to get my head too far up with hope.

Con, you still there?

Yeah I'm still here.

I ended the phone call after he asked me to meetup with him in an hour- he was currently on the ride back to his house for the first time in months. I knew the feeling.

xx

After putting on clothes to resemble that of a normal teenage boy, I found myself staring intently at the mirror above mine and Mikey's sink trying to decide what to do with my hair. As my reflection stared back with undeniable weariness and exhaustion, I felt the idea of a quiff dissipating. Ben had been the first one to show me the hairstyle along with many other things I wouldn't be able to forget. A quiff was his thing and I don't think I would be able to attempt to recreate it again.

Leaving my hair down in the annoying fluff that I hated, I grabbed my phone and house key before leaving to take my bike toward Troye's neighborhood which was now a while away but nothing too far.

Jenna waved me off as the wheels left the garage pavement and hit the road below

Breathing in the air was easy and I felt relieved to see the rush coming toward me as the wheels turned and made the speed of the bike accelerate- 1..2..3..4 miles and counting.
