Stephanie was very disappointed in Matthew and so was Lilly, even Jason and possibly Skip. Mr. Darcy had ignored the situation completely. Matthew focused less on Mr. Darcy and more n what a jerk he had been. He couldn't tell Lilly he was sorry for using her. Matthew wanted to ask Stephanie what he should do but she didn't seemed very pleased with him at the moment. Matthew took out a sheet of paper and a pencil and set them down on the table. He stared at the paper for awhile with the pencil grasped in his hand. How was he gonna say sorry? Matthew just started writing what he felt,

Dear Lilly,

I'm sorry for lying to you and using you for my own selfish reasons. What I did was probably one of the

dumbest things I had ever done. I can't imagine how you feel. I was just trying to get my wife back but

what I did to do that just made the whole situation worse and now my wife's crossed with me and

even my cat is probably disappointed in me. You were so nice even to Jason. I hope you can forgive

me, and though I'm sure after what I did that you wouldn't want to visit ever again you are still

welcome  to come anytime you'd like.

Sincerely, Matthew.

Matthew read over the letter a couple times even though he knew he probably wasn't going to be able to ever give it to her he had to write it down. He took the letter and put it in a plain white envelope hidden in a random drawer where no one would care to look. He also wanted to apologize to Stephanie. He knew she would feel bad about the whole situation as well. Matthew laid down on the couch. He looked over to Mr. Darcy who was looking out the window sipping tea.  He knew the situation was his fault but he still put some of the blame on Mr. Darcy. "Matthew you look sad," Jason said looking up at Matthew long enough to sense his melancholy mood.

"I am sad. . . I was so selfish and it's all my fault. . ."

"Did you say sorry to Lilly?"

"No. . . I can't, i don't even know where she is."

"She might have went back to where you found her."

"She's probably not there."

"It's worth a try Matt. It's better than moping around feeling sorry."

"I guess you're right."

Matthew got up off the couch and went to the drawer opening it and taking out the letter. Matthew walked toward the door and opened it. He stepped out closing the door behind him gripping the letter in his left hand. He started the car and drove back to the park he had been to. Before he parked he looked to see if Lilly's car was there. It was. Matthew smiled. Lilly wasn't in sight though. He got out of his car tucking the letter in one of her windshield wipers hoping she would read it. He got back in his car and drove back to his house. When he walked back inside the house was still quiet, just like he had left it. He hadn't talked to Stephanie today as much as he usually does.

He started looking around for Stephanie. He saw her laying on the bed napping. She wasn't under the covers or had her head on a pillow but she was snoring softly. Matthew didn't want to disturb her so he just gently stroked her hair and put a blanket over her knowing that she gets cold easily. He left the room. "So, was she there?" Jason asked.

"Her car was there so I just put the note I had written on her hood."

"She'll see it."

"How will know?"

"She probably won't miss it, and I'm ninety-nine percent sure she'll read it."

"Alright."

Matthew glanced over at Mr. Darcy who was walking towards Matt and Stephanie's room. Matthew followed behind him silently. Mr. Darcy entered their room looking down on Stephanie sleeping peacefully. "Her beauty is so captivating, yet my love for her-" Mar. Darcy was stopped by Matthew gripping his back collar. Matthew jerked Mr. Darcy out of their room and rushed him to the front door kicking Mr. Darcy out and locking the door to make sure he wouldn't come back in. "Finally that dumb pest outta here," Matthew muttered to himself.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Matthew walked up to the door and looked through the peephole to make sure it wasn't Mr. Darcy trying to get back in. It was Lilly. Matthew quickly unlocked the door and opened it. Without saying a word Lilly hugged Matthew. Matthew hugged back. "I forgive you," Lilly said letting go smiling up at Matthew.

"So you did get the latter?"

"Yeah, I really appreciate that you actually wrote a letter and tried to find me."

"It was the least I could do after what I did."

"Well, thank you Matt and tell Steph I said hi."

They both hugged each other goodbye and Lilly got back in her car and drove away. Matthew closed the door with a smile on his face now relieved that he had set things right and hadn't made someone's day go horribly wrong. "I told you!" Jason said. Matthew just rolled his eyes. "Thank you Jason."Jason nodded, he was right again. Stephanie walked out wrapped in the blanket Matthew had used to warm her up.

Matthew looked at Stephanie and hugged her. "Lilly said hi," he said smiling.

"So you set things right and said sorry?"

"Yep!"

Stephanie smiled. She looked around.

"Matthew, where's Mr. Darcy?"

"I, uh. . . kicked him out."

"He was going to be gone soon anyway."

Matthew kissed Stephanie's head.
