Yunseo. That wasn't her real name, no, that was her online name and alias she got from her best friend who died just a year before. Not bothering with the dashes in the name or even trying to seem Korean - she didn't want to disrespect her best friend.
Not that she was alive anymore.
Yunseo (which I'll use for now) stood and stretched, before slumping, adjusting her filthy glasses so they weren't about to fall off. Pushing her chair back into her desk, she opened the door to her room and stepped out, revealing the outside.
Seeing that she lived in a small, three-room condo, a main room for dining and sleeping, a kitchen and a bathroom, it wasn't too surprising that she went outside often to get fresh air and escape from the stuffy place.
Sloppily cramming on her sneakers, she put on her zip-up hoodie, the emblem for the Ministry of Welfare Public Safety Bureau on the back and 'Psycho-Pass' written below it. Her excuse for wearing it would be, 'It was the cheapest thing in the store!".
Taking her keys, phone, money and messenger bag, she closed the door and locked it behind her, turning around and sighing in relief before straightening her back and walking down the street. Yunseo whistled a small tune to herself, scrolling through the songs on Love Live, looking for one to play as she waited for the street light to turn white.
Looking up after a few minutes, she swore as the red hand for stop flashed on and off, and dashed across the street.
She heard the loud screeching of car tires and a car horn blaring.
Time almost slowed down, and she turned to her right, eyes widening.
The car slammed into her, sending her meters into the air, almost flying. Blood spattered onto the ground, and her world went black just before she hit the ground.
...
She felt her heartbeat shake her body, and she twitched, opening her eyes.
Her glasses were red, and she couldn't see anything. Sitting up, she felt numb and aloof, squinting and taking off her glasses. Why did she have glasses? Taking in the area around her, she could see just fine.
Frowning, she folded her glasses and put them in her bag, standing. Looking around again, she saw tall buildings. 'Where am I?' She questioned, then frowned. 'Better yet, who am I? My body hurts all over, and there's blood on my clothes but I don't have any injuries...
'Maybe an even better question is why I'm so calm about this.' She shook her head, looking around.
She tensed when she heard the sound of sirens, and whirled around to see a black car with light blue glowing circuits.
The top read 'POLICE.'
Shinya was enjoying his day off, in his room, punching the hell out of the sand bag when the alarm went off.
"All Enforcers from Division One, report to Investigator Tsunemori immediately! I repeat!"
Shinya groaned, wiping the sweat from his body with a towel before stuffing his shirt and jacket on and running out of his quarters.
Along the way he ran into Shusei, who paused to let him catch up. "Ko, do you know what's going on?" Shinya shook his head and Shusei sighed. "It's gotta be pretty important..."
The two ran in silence until they arrived at their office, where Akane stood, looking shaken. All the other Enforcers were there, also looking startled.
