"I don't know why she can't just trust Jesus."

Melanie stabbed her fork into her salad.

Andrews eyes were huge as he spoke." I can't even guess how many times you killed that poor salad."

"Andrew did you even hear what I said?"

"Yeah. That's unfortunate but maybe soon her eyes will open and she will see that she needs Jesus, I mean maybe if her boyfriend was more supportive...but you know..."

"Yeah Derek isn't really supportive of Jesus and the Bible cause he's not a believer either."

"Exactly." Andrew said as he finished his fruit cup.

Why can't she see you Lord? Why? I know you care and love her, why can't she see it?

"Hey Mel? I have to go. But you call Me if you want to talk." Andrew got up and left.

Melanie sighed and pushed her salad away.

"Hey, can I sit?" Leah said as she pulled out a chair.

"Sure."

Leah was a girl from Algebra class. She was a rocky kind of girl who was a partier.

"Thanks. So what goes on? Ooh... you gonna eat that?" She asks as she grabs my salad.

I sigh and sit back in my chair. "Leah. How do you feel about Jesus?"

"Jesus? Jesus who?"

"Jesus Christ."

"Umm.. I don't know. I've gone to Sunday school before but that's it."

"Oh."

After school Ashley walked to Pete's popcorn. It was very slow, although Pete said it always was until the fair time.

She walked home slowly and climbed the steps to the three story house.

She opened the door and slammed it shut dropping her back pack on the floor. "I'm home!"

Meg walked into the living room and handed her a stack of plates." Set the table, suppers almost done."

"But I just got home!"

"Yeah and we've been home all day. Whats a your point?"

I sighed and took the stack of plates to the wooden table with 6 chairs.

Maybe I should explain who my sister's are so you understand. Meg is seventeen and she's the oldest, she has curly short brown hair and dark brown eyes. She's probably 5'7.

And as you know I'm Ashley and I have brown hair and hazel eyes and 5'5.

Jenny is thirteen and has blond hair and blueish green eyes and she is 5'4

And last is Hadley she is seven and she has blond straight hair and her height doesn't really matter.

We all sat down at the table in our usual spots, but dad's spot was still empty.

"Hadley would you like to say the blessing?" Mom asked.

Yes I know, my whole family is believers but not me. I don't believe in that stuff.

"Dear Lord Hesus, thank you so much for the macaroni and cheese salad... but not for the tomatoes.-" Hadley stuck out her tongue." And bless the chocolate cake. Oh please Dear Lord be with daddy as the makes his journey to California-"

I saw Meg pinch Hadley in the arm. "Thank you for everything you've done for us, ooh and thank you for letting me get into ballet class! Amen."

As we sat through dinner or thought about my little sister's prayer.. Could she really believe in something that is so not true?
