She stood there
stood there all alone
in the midst of destruction.
Torn clothes, bruised legs,
blood flowing from her shoulder
burnt hair covered in ashes,
eyes filled with tears
she was standing there, in her home
the place where she belongedThey had died for her
she cursed herself ! cried her eyes out !
searched desperately for a sign
a sign of hope.
'its all my fault !'Then she saw him lying there.
Ran to him hoping...
hoping for the impossible...
but she saw-- his eyes closed
he was sleeping; for eternity.
Quivering, she planted one last kiss upon him.
looked around one last time.
smiled as her knees felt weak
and she dropped to the ground.
