Hi it's AnnikaMonge. So basically this story is mainly going to be in Merlin and Arthur's point of view unless stated otherwise. This is a Merthur story because basically ArrowSlinger1502 and I believe Merthur is good. So here it is this beautiful, gay story.

A song that Arrow wrote but I sang. Ignore the background noises.

No man, no matter how great, can know his destiny. He cannot glimpse his part in the great story that is about to unfold. Like everyone, he must live and learn. And so it will be for the young warlock arriving at the gates of Camelot. A boy that will, in time, father the legend. His name, Merlin.

The sun blazed down the young boy's back as he walked through the endless fields of grass. Merlin was on a journey that his mother had sent him on. Merlin was on his way to Camelot.

As he walked with his head down as the sun was too hot for him. He slowly lifted his head to see a kingdom out in the distance. Suddenly he was filled with joy of finally reaching his destination. Merlin began running to it, he ran until he got to the gates of the magnificent kingdom.

Merlin entered Camelot, there was something going on. It seemed as if the whole village was gathered in the main square for a special gathering. As he made his way to the centre, there was a king who stood tall and mighty with his royal cloak.

"Let this serve as a lesson to all. This man, Thomas James Collins, is adjusted guilty of conspiring to the use of enchantments and magic. And, pursuant to the laws of Camelot. I, Uther Pendragon, have decreed that such practices are banned on penalty of death," Merlin turns his head to the man being accused, wincing slightly at his being kneeled," I pride myself as a fair and just king, but for the crime of sorcery, that is but one sentence I can pass." King Uther raises his hand towards the executioner and then lowers it as a signal. The executioner then beheads Thomas making the crowd gasp and Merlin wince once more. Something like that can happen to him.

Uther continued to speak, "When I came to this land, this kingdom was mired in chaos, but with the people's help magic was driven from the realm. So I declare a festival to celebrate twenty years since the Great Dragon was captured and Camelot freed from the evil of sorcery. Let the celebrations begin," Uther Pendragon declared to the crowd below him. A woman from the crowd of the villagers stepped out. She was old, but still held an angry look. Merlin stepped back in suspicion, something was off about her.

"There is only one evil in this land, and it is not magic! It is you! With your hatred and ignorance! You took my son! And I promise you, before the celebrations are over, you will share my tears. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a son for a son," the mother of Thomas Collins wailed out to the king. She held the king's eyes as he ordered out for the guards to seize her, Mary Collins held her ground and began to chant out an incantation. Then she disappeared into a cloud of smoke

Merlin watched the spot for a minute then started to find the place he was there for anyway. When finally entering the palace he walked up to a guard, who stood walking around. It made Merlin feel weird to see a guy so handsome. It made his insides explode with excitement and tingles. Merlin already had a crush, a simple, stupid crush on a stranger.

"Where would I find Gaius, the-the court physician?" Merlin stuttered halfway through his sentence. The guard looked at him weird and pointed to an open door, not too far. Merlin mentally face palmed and walked up the steps of the little house. The young warlock knocks on the already open door and takes a look inside. "Hello?" Merlin called out to the somewhat empty place. He looks up to see a man on  stairs.

"Hello? Gaius?" Merlin cleared his throat making Gaius trip backwards making a rail break. Merlin quickly made his eyes glow the yellowish color, slowing time to move a mattress underneath Gaius just before he hits the ground.

" What did you just do?" Gaius asked in shock and surprise. Merlin squirmed with slight discomfort on having no answer.

"Erm," he trailed off not knowing what to say. " Tell me!" Gaius pressed on, making Merlin lose his train of thought.

"I-I have no idea what happened," Merlin stuttered backing away slightly from the man yelling at him.

"If anyone had seen that..."

"Er, no! That-that was, that was nothing to do with me. That-that was..."

"I know what it was! I just want to know where you learned how to do it."

"Nowhere," Merlin tried to convince the old man.

"So how is it you know magic?" Gaius questioned Merlin. He noticed the slight look of fear in the boy's eyes.

"I don't." Lies.

"Where did you study? Answer me."

"I-I've never studied magic or, or been taught," Merlin swore, he did not want to end up like Thomas Collins.

"Are you lying to me, boy?" Merlin was but he didn't want Gaius to know about him.

"What do you want me to say?"

"The truth."

"Fine, I was born like this, " Merlin exaggerated.

"That is impossible," Gaius questioned, giving him the look.

"Oh, erm here," Merlin gets his bag and opens it, taking out a letter. Merlin hands it to Gaius, excepting him to read it right away.

"I-I don't have my glasses." Gaius told the young boy in front of him still confused to who exactly he is. Merlin stood straight and tall then proclaimed to the old man,

"Oh, I am Merlin."
