The moon was glistening like an exquisite pearl set in a sea of dark stones. There were barely any clouds, the leaves swayed to the gentle breeze.... The woods were teeming with life yet, was eerily silent. A dark figure darted past the trees towards the lake situated in the midst of the forest. On reaching his destination, the person crouched on the ground and stared at his reflection in the clear,sparkling,crystalline water. Bright, luminescent eyes, the colour of the sky during a storm stared right back. A sudden warmth went through his body, and he could hear the distinct cracking sound of his bones. It was terribly excruciating -the transformation - but he had gotten used to the pain. It became a part of his daily routine. Infact, he welcomed it.
In the place of the man, now sat the biggest Wolf anyone has ever laid their eyes now. It's magnificent, midnight black fur glistened under the moonlight, it's storm, grey eyes shone with an animalistic glow, but had a commanding look. He was without doubt, the most fearsome yet marvellous creature in the planet. With his snout raised to the Moon, he howled a powerful one that resonated through the entire forest. It was a howl that would have anyone bowing on their knees and baring their neck. And it did have its said effect - men, women and children gathered around him and bowed their heads and bared their necks. They felt no shame in doing so; infact, it was a moment of pride for them - because their Lupus Deus, their king, has finally returned.
