A/N: this story is actually published on Wattpad in my account, and has a few chapters. So if you like it please go and read the book

I stood in front of their front door waiting for courage to knock. I just left everything behind in my old life; I came here wanting to start something new. 30 seconds of courage, that is all I need.

Somehow I managed it and knocked on the door. From the inside I heard, "I'll get it!" It sounded like a boy's voice and running feet. Suddenly the door opened, and there stood the boy with chestnut brown eyes and short brown hair, he look at me confused, "Sorry we do not want anything." Then proceeded to shut the door, I held out my hand to stop him.

"I'm not selling anything." I told him, "I am looking for Mr and Mrs Griffin?"

"Yeah they live here." He said deadpanned,

"Can I please talk to them?" I asked,

"Sure," he said puzzled, "wait a second, l'll call them." He then turned around and yelled into the house, "MUM, DAD. SOMEONE IS HERE TO SEE YOU!"

I looked up to see two adults walking towards the door. They looked at me puzzled, but I saw some recognition in their eyes. Mr Griffin then spoke up, "Hello and who might you be?" He raised an eyebrow at me. He was a strong built man, army cut blonde hair and army green eyes. Mrs Griffin had shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes, she looked at me like she knew me.

I replied to his question, "I'm Lindsey Chase, you might know my mum and dad?"

Pure shock and understanding came over Mrs Griffin's face, "Lindsey? Is that really you?" I nodded hesitant. "You've grown so much. You look a lot like your mother."

I smiled a small smile, "Everyone says that."

She then realized where I was and said, "Oh where are my manners? Come in, come in." She led me to the lounge room and told me to sit down. I looked at Mr Griffin, he was still trying to figure out who I was as he followed us in to the room. "Who's your mum and dad?"

"Leona and Walter Chase."

His eyes went wide, "That is who I could see" he smiled then asked, "How did you get here?" I heard a gasp from the front door and the boy came running in,

"Who's electric blue Harley is that?"

"Mine." I said sheepishly.

"What?!" He was shocked, then looked at what I was wearing.

I had black fingerless gloves on my hands, my biker jacket and jeans. My helmet I used for that bike was resting on a handle outside.

"I see you got some personality traits from your dad?" Mr Griffin smiled,

"Yeah." I said quietly. It was silent for a few seconds then,

"Onto important matters. Why are you here? Where are your parents?" I thought about my mum and dad, tears started to come to my eyes.

"I don't know." I said quietly, one tear dripped down my face,

"What do you mean you don't know?"

I took a deep breath and told them, "At the end of May, my mum and dad had a fight. Not like their normal ones, this one was bigger. I don't even know what it was about! I just knew that when it was over, dad was nowhere to be found and his things were missing. Mum kept on reassuring me the he would come back. After a month, he hadn't come back and mum didn't know where he was. That was when she started shutting me out, she wouldn't eat, talk or move from the lounge. I got worried, I didn't know what to do. One day when I came home, mum wasn't there. I found a note that said. 'To My loving daughter, I have been such a bad mother to you, so I am leaving. So probably by the time you read this, I will be gone. I am not telling you where I am going, because I don't want you to follow. I want to go to your godparents house, they will look after you. From Mum.' At the bottom of the note was your address, I decided that I would come to you the next day. So here I am."
