I'D LIE (One Shot)

"Cassopie Reese Montereal! Ready?" tanong sa akin ng organizer no'ng event. She was holding different papers, and looked so busy with everything. I pressed my lips together and clasped by hands together.

The organizer smiled at me and gave me thumbs up. I closed my eyes momentarily as I breathed in a huge amount of air and exhaled it loudly. I returned a beam at her. Kaya mo 'yan Cassopie! Kaya mo 'yan! I chanted repeatedly inside my head.

"Yes po," I retorted shortly, hoping the nerves in my body would calm down. Who was I kidding? It made me more restless.

"That's great!" she exclaimed delightfully. "In 20 minutes, we will start!" tuwang-tuwang dagdag nito. She took her phone, and earpiece to inform everyone who was also in-charge of the event, and went on to attend necessary things that was going on.

I bit my lower lips. E 'di siya na masaya. Ako na kinakabahan. I thought silently because she really looked too thrilled about everything although she had many things to take care of. Sana lahat na lang.

Kinakabahan talaga ako ngayon. Oh, my gosh! Bakit ba naman kasi napasali ako sa contest na 'to?! Sobrang epic lang. I shook my head while thinking why I was in this situation. Kasi naman 'yong mga kaklase ko narinig lang ako na kumanta nang isang beses 'tapos nagandahan na sa boses ko. Resulta? Ayan, ako na ang sinabing isali sa singing contest na 'to!

Mga echusera! Speed ang galawan. Parang nagpaikot ng roleta 'tapos sa pangalan ko natapat, kaya tuwang-tuwa ang mga loka-loka at ako na sinali para ligtas sila. I rolled my eyes but still smiled. They were lucky, I liked them. It wasn't of a big deal, but maybe a spur of the moment anxiousness.

I paced back and forth trying to calm my nerves. It wasn't the first time, I'd be on stage to sing. It wasn't new. So, I needed to calm down. But it wasn't really the singing that I was jittery about. It was an entirely different thing.

"Reese?" Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko dahil napatalon ako sa gulat sa malagong na boses na narinig ko mula sa may likod.

I gulped secretly and my eyes widened. I closed my eyes again, and I slapped my face a little, before looking back. Oh ha, awra muna bago harap! Para kunwari fresh. Joke, iba talaga nagagawa ng kaba.

"Hmm?" tanging tugon ko sa lalaking tumawag sa pangalan ko. I stared at him, and he automatically smiled.

Natigilan ako saglit sa ngiting 'yon. His squinting eyes that looked so happy, and intense at the same time. I liked those eyes the most. Hooded wide-set that were coloured sepia brown when reflected by the sun and light. Even his lashes were thick and long. Those eyes... it sparked different colours that could light up the darkness of my days.

His nose was dainty and pointed that seriously fits his whole facial features. My eyes automatically went down to his lips, and I twitched a little because it was still beaming brightly at me. Those lush, not that thick nor thin pinkish lips.

"Reese?" My forehead puckered when I saw how his eye brows met in a thin line because of confusion.

Focus, Cassopie! I mentally scolded myself, and stood up straight. I coughed fakely. "Bakit? Mang-aasar ka? Alis ka na!" sunod-sunod na sabi ko sa kanya, pagkatapos itutulak ko na s'ya. He wasn't muscular, he was more lean and model like. Ang tangkad kasi, sarap mamalimos ng height!

Pati kutis sobrang ganda! He was fair but not paper-white. He even gave that off the boy next door vibe. E 'di shing! E 'di s'ya na talaga! I pouted in my imagination inside my head, but then flicked my forehead.
