🌸NICOLE'S P.O.V🌸
A very loud *thud* wakes me up out of my sleep. I grab my phone, checking the time, to see that it is 3am.

My first instinct was to run upstairs and check on my mom. I open the door to her room and a huge scream fills the house.

I see my mom laying on the ground, I go over to see if I feel a pulse and there is nothing. My hands are shaking very bad as I pull out my phone to dial "911". As soon as I hit call, somebody was all ready on the phone:

Call taker: "911, what's your emergency"?

Me: "My mom..uhh... She fell..Out of her bed and is (tears start rushing down my face) unresponsive.

Call taker: "Okay, how long has she been unresponsive, what is the address, and your names please?"

Me: "She has been unresponsive for about (taking the phone off of my ear to check the time) 7 minutes. Th..th..the address is 309 James...street, Saint johns FL." I say trying to breath, in between every other word or so. "I am Nicole Emitt and my moms name is Stephanie Parker.

Call taker: "Okay an ambulance is on its way Nicole"!

Me: "Okay... Thank...You", I say hanging up the phone. Tears instantly rush down my face when I just stare at my mothers unresponsive body.

I ran downstairs faster than I have ever ran to unlock the door. I open it up and police say "Nicole Emmit"?

"That's me, my mom is upstairs on the floor, first bedroom to your right." I say to the paramedics, my voice sounding very shaky.

They put her on a gurney and loaded her in the ambulance. Telling me to follow them, I automatically grabbed my keys and hopped in the car.

Once we got to the hospital she had waken up. They got her a room on the 3rd floor, room 323. But, as soon as I sit a doctor comes in and says "we are going to do a Cat scan." "Okay" I say looking down at the ground trying not to cry.

A different doctor comes in and asks me so many questions. He was asking me questions like, how long was she out, has this happened before, what medication is she on. I eventually lost my mind and yelled at him.

"STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS AND FUCKING TELL ME IF MY MOM WILL BE OKAY!" I yell at the cops. Tears starting to rush down my face.

"Ma'am you need to calm down, I'm sure your mom will be fine, go get some water and come back."

"I'll be back but I'm done answering questions for right now." I get a cup of ice water and it is very refreshing. I throw my cup away and go back to the room and wait.

After what felt like forever my mom comes back into the room. She smiles when she sees me and I get up from my chair and hug her.

The doctor then asked me to step out of the room so we could talk:

Me: Is she going to be okay?

Doctor: Your mom is okay for now but the cat scan shows she has a tumor on the right side of her brain.

Me: you can fix it right? With like a surgery or medicine or something.

Doctor: We can try to fix it but a tumor this size could harm some of her senses. Such as, movement, she could be paralyzed. Anything is possible when it comes to the brain.

Me: will anything help shrink the tumor? (Giving him a very sad and confused look)

Doctor: I will have to perform surgery as soon as possible! Do you have a father or siblings you should call?

Me: No actually my Father passed away 2 years ago, and my brother hasn't talked to us for 4 years.

Doctor: I'm sorry, you can go back and talk to your mom, we will be back to prep for surgery right after these forms are signed by you.

Me: Okay

I walk in the room looking at my mom, wanting to break down in tears but I need to be strong, for moms sake. I talk to her about everything and finish filling out the papers.

The doctor walks in takes the papers from my hand and he then signs off on it. He starts preparing her for surgery. I sit there trying to breath but bad things keep running through my head.

I'm only 16 if anything were to happen to her I have no where to go, I have not family, no friends that actually like me. I lose my train of thought when the doctor taps me on the shoulder. "We are taking her to the O.R. Hearing him say that makes tears rush down my face.

I turn to my mom and hug her "I love you mom, your going to be just fine I will see you when you get out of surgery".

"That's the spirit Nicole, I love you so much, your the best thing that's ever happened to me." "I will see you when I get out."

Letting go of her hand I know that could be the last moment I will ever share with her. They take her back and I just sit in her room waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

After 3 hours I finally get some news, "everything is going as planned, we should have her out in another hour and a half. One of the doctors from the O.R says to me with a smile.

"That's great news, Thank you so much" I say giving him a very big smile.

"No problem, I should get going now I will see you in a little" the doctor says right before walking back to the O.R.

I want to scream and cry and jump up and down. All of my worries are washed away. My mom is going to be fine, This is the best day ever.

My mom finally comes back into the room with a huge bandage wrapped around her head. She has no more hair, it's a little saddening but she is still breathing, and that's all that matters.

The doctor comes in the room and tells me, "there was a little scare in the O.R, but everything is good now. I got it all, she is now tumor free."

"What kind of scare was it?" (I say with a very concerned look on my face).

"She started to slur her words a little but everything is good now. She should be doing everything normal by the next 3 weeks.
